This school is terrific and a wise choice for anyone with children. The staff is wonderful, kind, caring, and has you child's best interest in mind. The Waldorf method of education focuses on the more important things in life and produces highly educated and well-rounded children that will go on to do great things in their prosperous futures. If you're interested in having a happy, balanced, and superb childhood education experience - this is the go-to option in New Orleans. 10/10 would highly recommend!!

I am a new parent at Waldorf School of New Orleans. My son started kindergarten this year, and I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience with the school. The administration was incredibly communicative. After touring many schools in New Orleans and doing hours of internet research, consulting friends who had kids at other elementary schools, I came to the decision that Waldorf was going to be the school that would help educate my son into the dynamic future into which we are headed. The children gain a deep respect for the natural environment. They learn how to be in community and the curriculum fosters deep respect for each other and the natural world. I am excited to meet his 1st grade teacher and see the educator who will be on a journey with him for several grades. Waldorf is unique in that students have the same teacher for years. This fosters a deep investment in the education of the student, since the teacher does not start from square one every year with new students. The integration of arts, crafts, and sciences solidifies the type of interdisciplinary education that makes sense for how the world actually works. Parents are encouraged to pack healthy lunches and technological devices are discouraged. As someone who has worked in communications and social media, I deeply understand how devices are a deep distraction to education, and Waldorf promotes organic learning involving the head, heart, and hands. My son's teachers are thoughtful and kind. He received a beautiful birthday card that was sent to our address for his birthday and his teachers presented him with a box of beautiful rocks and shells. I was touched and he felt special and cared for. The kindergarten students bake bread, cut vegetables for soup, and make their own fruit salad for snack. They also learn to wash and fold their snack napkins. Now, my son helps me fold and wash at home -- practical skills that help children understand responsibility, labor, and how to be supportive. I am happy to know that this is also part of his education. Please take the time to tour the school, and get to know the wonderful faculty and staff. I look forward to continuing my son's educational journey there.

Beware of Abuse. My daughter was a student at this school for her 3rd and 4th grade year(2021-2023) I was originally impressed with the school's pedagogy and their promise to "nurture the whole child". What proceeded was 2 years of mental abuse that resulted in physical abuse by her grade teacher(The current 5th grade teacher). The administration then proceeded to gaslight my child and myself. I was told we would need to sign documentation stating that her teacher was never physically abusive towards her if I wanted my child to return to the school. The physical abuse was seen by 4 of her classmates but the administration still decided to not address the abuse. Some of the other teachers are wonderful educators but the administration is lacking and the school environment fosters abuse.
