I'm glad my wife and I decided to stay here while in New Orleans. Let's start with the staff. They had great hospitality and respectful and very welcoming. Our butler Mr.Thomas was amazing during our entire stay. He kept us laughing. I forgot the two ladies names at the front desk but they were great as well. During our stay we had complimentary drinks and breakfast. The breakfast was delicious too. The bar staff were pleasant. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The bed was so comfortable, I slept like a baby. Our room stayed clean as well. The only thing I didn't see was a microwave but I believe alot of hotels are removing them from their rooms. It's a steakhouse inside of the hotel too. We didn't try it but we heard great things. Overall I give my stay a 10/10. Highly recommend!

We were in "the square" for a pre-Fat Tuesday visit to NOLA and needing quality accommodations in the thick of it. The voco St. James Hotel met our needs well. The hotel has accommodating and very friendly staff, clean rooms perfect for collapsing into after a day running around the city, a cozy bar to get a start on your day (or night), and usually has some very good king cake on hand. The lobby is very comfortable sitting area perfect for making plans with travel companions before setting out for the day.The voco St. James is within easy walking access of the core of the city and we had no difficulty getting about aside from the occasional parade to navigate. The entry being off a "lesser" street made it easy for ground transportation to pick our party up. Four out of five stars due to an awkward hot water issue that put a damper on our last morning there. The staff gets credit for being empathetic to the situation. I've no doubt that the problem was remedied as soon as possible. The short of it, I expect we will book another stay at the voco St. James the next time we find ourselves in New Orleans.Things to know: * The hotel is located between the French Quarter to the north and the Warehouse District to the south. * Magazine St. is one way from south to north. * We flew in and used taxi services. Be sure to inquire about parking options if you drive in. * If you stay during Mardi Gras You will have to contend with parades getting to the hotel, and passing by the hotel (within a short block).

Enjoyed our stay here.. This hotel is in a very good location, right off magazine street, walking distance to the WWII museum, 2 blocks from the Ruby Slipper and just around the corner from the casino. The staff was awesome, everyone we encountered was helpful and friendly, David especially. Our room was comfortable and clean, we had everything we needed during our stay. I did quite a bit of searching when we were looking to spend the weekend in NOLA, we've visited a few times so I'm somewhat familiar with the city. Some of the reviews for this hotel and others around it complain about the buildings being dated or some rooms being without windows. I think it needs to be said that this city is over 300 years old and has seen/survived several natural disasters and still continues to thrive. So please understand that when searching for hotel and understand that if you're looking to stay in or around the French quarter you're going to get the charm/character that comes with these older buildings. I will say when it comes to the windowless rooms when booking your reservation it does give you the option to opt for a room with windows so folks shouldn't be surprised if they end up in an interior room if that's how they made the reservation. We'll definitely stay here again the next time we're in NOLA.

I was a guest for 6 days for work. Andrew and Ricky were amazing! Best service, cool rooms and delicious libations. The staff were very friendly the concierge was delightful (older gentleman, I can't remember his name!) I would recommend the hotel and the bar, to anyone visiting NOLA.

My stay was not without it's problems, but the staff was excellent all around.I picked this hotel out of the available IHG properties as the site advertised a really nice Nespresso machine. Upon checking in, the front desk agent was very friendly and was able to upgrade me to a suite thanks to my Diamond status. Unfortunately, I discovered the room didn't have the Nespresso machine advertised, and inexplicably, none of the rooms did. I let the staff know and the hotel manager arranged for a Nespresso machine to be put in my room on the 3rd day of my stay with plenty of pods, which was nice that they fixed the issue. The room wasn't the cleanest with hairs in the shower, and they told me they would re-clean the room but never did. Not a huge deal, but sadly they are just not doing a great job on cleaning. The manager said he would address in the future. The bed was super comfortable and I slept amazing. The location is clutch, too, a 5-10 minute walk from everything you'd want without having any of the noise issues.Only real issue as others have pointed out is that the hotel is old and is need of an upgrade. Drawers didn't close, floors are uneven -- I almost hurt myself going down the 2" drop going into the bathroom in the middle of the night. Nothing was a deal-breaker, but things to be aware of.

This was our third stay at this hotel, and I'm glad to say it's better than ever. The room we got was clean, spacious, and well appointed; the air conditioning was set perfectly; and the bed was a dream (pun intended) to sleep in. The staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. What sets the St. James apart from other historic hotels is that, for the price, you simply can't beat the location. Walk ten minutes down the street and you'll be in the heart of the French Quarter. It's also in a quieter part of town, so even with a street-side room (you *definitely* want to pay for one of those!) noise isn't an issue. As a side note, if you have a car, be prepared to pay for parking, and be prepared to look for a place to do so. Like all other establishments in downtown NOLA, parking is hard to come by.

Stayed here for the weekend to see Taylor Swift. The location was fantastic, close to Canal Street and centrally located for a reasonable walk to the Bourbon Street as well as the Superdome. Even though we checked in late, we found the staff to be very attentive. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We had some trouble with the TV but staff were quick to resolve that issue.Highly recommend

Had a 4-night stay with my siblings and overall we had a great time! The hotel is located in a nice area, quiet but close to all the fun. The dipping pool is small but in a beautiful courtyard and such a great way to cool off. Everyone at the front desk was always kind and personable. I will say I would've liked if the bar had a cocktail menu and the shower water was HOT.
