Sign on the front wall of the VRC building. Apparently done by a bunch of lusher students.
They love the butt rubs
Early morning walks are MOST necessary.

The staff and volunteers are dedicated and work hard to provide medical, training, love, and give these pups what they need to find their forever homes.

Villalobos has an awesome website with a lot of up-to-date, comprehensive information on how you can volunteer and/or visit. They have, thankfully, reinstated tours even after all of the scary things they've encountered from folks over the years. My friend and I were so thankful that we were able to walk dogs during their 2:30 p.m. slot last Wednesday (they also have an 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. slot, seven days/nights a week). There were five other volunteers present that afternoon and we each had an opportunity to walk two dogs. I truly enjoyed meeting Brigitte and Maybe - both of them were friendly jumpers who loved giving kisses. There are a lot of staff on-hand so you never feel like you're without support if needed. There's some paperwork at the beginning which is good for a year if you ever come back to walk dogs. It's so clear how much the staff love the dogs and know each of them individually. If you're in/around New Orleans, please consider taking some time out of your itinerary to visit and volunteer! It'll be one of the most memorable parts of your trip.

I visited VRC in 2018 on a trip to New Orleans. I have watched Pitbulls & Parolees for several years so was so excited to finally visit. The tour guide was amazing and provided a ton of information and he walked us through the kennels. The tour is free but they accept donations for their time to help further their mission. They run quite the operation over there and I would recomended everyone check it out. It was a few minute Uber from Bourbon Street and a quick tour.

A visit to Villalobos was number one on my list of must dos during my visit to New Orleans. They did not disappoint. Earl Moffett conducted the tour and Toney Converse came along too! I mean, what!? I could tell that they are so passionate about what they do. We didn't get to see that many dogs, but the dogs that we did see were so eager for pets, that nearly all of them leaned against the kennel to allow you a few pets each. We got to see the wall with all the chains from previous rescues hanging on it, and it was pretty disturbing to think about what these dogs went through. I honestly wish I could have gone back for one more visit. If I lived anywhere near this place, I would volunteer as many times as they would allow me. What a wonderful organization and group of humans.

It's really great what this organization is doing. The tour guide seemed chipper and thankfully parking wasn't tough because of the location on the outskirts of the city.

This is a truly amazing group of people! The founder is strong yet gentle, tough but fair and loving. If you want to make a difference in a rescued dog's life adopt, and if you want to give a donation contact them in Louisiana! This is a first class organization all the way!

I have watched Pit Bulls & Parolees for about 7 years. Thank you for all your hard, heartbreaking work you do. You and your 4 kids plus spouses are what people refer to when they say angels on earth. I could go on and on singing your praises but I don't want to sound creepy. Prayers to you and all you save and try to save.
