Solid bar. Good outdoor area with friendly staff! Visited for the first time on a Sunday and had a pleasant time. Good drink poor. Only had the fries this time, but they were seasoned and hot. Can't ask for much more that that.

Velveteen had me at 100%-worker-owned. You feel this from the sweetie vibes you get upon entry, the friendly "when you're here, your family " service, to the affordable drinks. The artwork blew me away. There is ample seating inside and even some sidewalk tables. We tried a couple of tacos from the menu, which were also, well priced. They were rich in flavor and the kitchen was open late. I found myself not wanting to leave. Can't wait to go back. Great for groups!Good for dates!

Vibe at Velveteen is amazing, came for the second half of the Super Bowl. A friendly neighborhood bar with an older drama free crowd. Drinks are cute and strong!

Sometimes I want to go where everybody knows my name...and their always glad you came. I'm always on the lookout for neighborhood bars that gives me CHEERS vibes and this that place. Plus it's an afro-tiki bar! Drinks are outstanding. The food menu is not your typical bar food. The bread for all the sandwiches are baked fresh do. Local bakery and the sandwiches come with a device salad. It's a delightful bar.

First off, I gotta say, I'm thrilled that we have a spot like this in the 7th ward. Good vibes, great service, reasonably priced drinks and food available late night, truly a breath of fresh air. After passing this spot only a couple times, it was time to stop in. At first I thought I was underdressed but then I quickly realized this is a true neighborhood bar and that notion went out the window, real quick. I wasn't sure what to expect when we stepped in but I gotta say, the whole vibe of the place made me feel right at home. The mood was just right. There was great music playing, the patrons were eclectic, friendly and the workers made me feel welcomed. This isn't a word I'd typically use, but the place was rather cute. Intimate tables donned with candles, a couple tables in the windows accompanied by some live plants were a nice touch. Couple TV's in there, and outdoor seating; the place has a good flow. Kicked things off with some cocktails. I had the Hibiscus Basil Sour with gin which was a delightful, refreshing and well balanced beverage. For food we went with the BBQ chicken tacos and my girl got the grilled cheese. Tacos were tasty, no complaints but I really loved the grilled cheese. It reminded me of the grilled cheeses we used to get in school at lunch and let that be no insult- our school lunch grilled cheeses were BOMB! Finished things off with a caiprihina and there was great body to the drink but not too overbearing, it was dangerously delicious and I finished it in record time. Definitely stamping myself as a regular at this spot, it's too good. Great job, y'all! This is an extremely cool spot to visit. It is owned by its staff first of all, which is so dope! Let's start with the atmosphere. Wonderful art on the walls and just a very cool setup. Colorful, vibrant, and laid back. This is a good location to meet up with friends and/or go on a date maybe. Street This location has a well-stocked bar with high and low finds I must say and a good cocktail menu. In addition, it's very cool they have an offering of mocktails. I had the chance to try their House Punch, which came with a rum base and a Hamilton Dark N Stormy cocktail. Both were delicious and refreshing cocktails.This location also had food. This time around I only tried the tasty empanadas.Folks, everything here is seriously reasonably priced. You should visit.Street parking is available and pretty easy to find. Great for a laid-back Saturday!

Very cool neighborhood bar and 100% worker owned, which is a rare find. The food is gooood too. Appreciate the chill vibe, welcoming to both locals and visitors.

Went here for the first time tonight. The cocktails were delicious and affordable. Service was fantastic. Not sure if their name but it was someone with short silvery hair. They were awesome and made sure to check if we enjoyed our cocktails and food. I live across town but will be sure to come back just for the amazing service! Food was great, cocktails delish, it was perfect!

Velveteen never disappoints. The $5 margarita is always on point. The crafted cocktails are tasty and balanced. The well drinks are great deals for the price. The kitchen has changed the menu up recently. No more cuban sandwiches, but the special empanadas and burgers are consistently good. The special burrata salad was divine. Velveteen is a great spot for an after work wind down. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. The crowd is chill.
