Uptown Auto Specialist..There is not enough to be said for this Auto Shop, on Tchoup!!My wife drives a Mini Cooper, and with the closure of the Mini Dealership in Baton Rouge, the nearest dealership for repairs is a couple of states over!!I searched high, and low, trying to find a competent Auto Repair Shop to repair my wife's 2015 Mini Copper Countryman.Uptown Auto was the right business for the best job.The job was done quickly, and for a great price.The service and staff were friendly, and very knowledgeable.We had to go out of town for about 10 days, and they held our Mini in the lot until we returned!!I mean talk about customer service!!If you have a Mini Cooper, and now have nowhere to go to for repairs, GO TO UPTOWN AUTO SPECIALIST!!!You will be thrilled with the entire experience.I do not pass around good reviews like Costco Sample here, and would never steer you wrong.Uptown Auto Specialist MUST BE your go to place for all of your automotive repair needs, especially if you drive a Mini Cooper!!

This sad mean old man stole my car. I have waited a while to write this review, literally took me three months to calm down. Every review on yelp is absolutely accurate of what he will do and any review you find telling you otherwise he has his secretary write. He will keep your car for months, perform thousands of dollars of unauthorized maintenance on your car and lie straight to your face. He is a crook. He put USED pieces in my vintage car without okaying it, charged me $2000 and didn't even fix my car. I thought he was scamming me so I had my mom call him and then when I went to go tow it out of his facility he blames it on my sweet mother sayin she told him to do whatever he wanted. She never said that, he's crazy and just a pathetic excuse of a business. I Called the cops and they said I had to take him to court, yeah let's pay $2k for a non working car you had for over a year didn't call me once, plus lawyer fees. He knows what he's doing, he steals your car and I'm sure he can all of a sudden fix it once it's in his possession. This guy belongs in jail. If anyone wants to go after this guy together message me on here, seems like a lot of people have been screwed over by him.

Charge exorbitant prices and the fee to diagnose problems doesn't go to the actual repairs if you decide to move forward. I will not go back. I got the work done elsewhere for 1/2 the price.

Took a 2006 subaru impreza in with an unknown oil leak after purchasing it second hand. They had resealed the engine and had it ready for pickup in like 2 days. Felt the price was fair especially for the speed.The car has been used regularly since and no oil leaks.

DO NOT GO HERE.First of all, the guy who took my car in was pulling it into the garage and crashed it into another vehicle. He did fix what he messed up at no charge but...this was not a great start.I was charged $1200. They put an O2 sensor for a DIFFERENT vehicle in my truck. On top of that, they stripped 3 out of 5 bolts in the catalytic converter. To top it all off, they reset the check engine light so it would stay off just long enough for me to not realize what they had done.If you want your car fucked up, by all means go here.

Took my daughters car by to diagnose an issue. The estimate was for around $1000 which seemed high since the car only had about 10,000 miles on it and what they were claiming needed to be repaired didn't seem right. I picked the car up and took it to another service center where they repaired the vehicle for $79. I went back to uptown and told them what happened and asked for a refund on my $200 diagnostic fee and they told me they would not return the fee and had no explanation as to why their diagnosis was incorrect .Keep your hand on your wallet when you walk in the door.

I'm made an appointment and received an email saying someone will contact you five days later I still hadn't been contacted but I drove to the appointment anyway when I got there, I was informed by the receptionist that she canceled the appointment and said that they sent an email canceling the appointment which is untrue. I never received an email from them.

I'm satisfied with my experience here. I took my used but new to us SUV here for a pre-purchase inspection. I grew up in my family's auto shop and do majority of my own repairs/maintenance, but they were able to point out some things that I wouldn't have noticed at all with the body and drivetrain. They also pointed out some things I wouldn't have thought to even look at. For instance the rear struts were mismatched. One was OEM the other was aftermarket. They should be replaced in pairs. Would you just replace one tennis shoe if it had a hole in it? That's not anything I would've caught or thought to look at until there were noticeable handling issues. They also pointed out failing/noisy pump. Realistically all minor problems.I took their report back to the dealer and asked them to make it right by replacing the rear struts with a matching pair, and to replace the failing pump. They acknowledged the problems, agreed with the findings, but refused to replace the pump and told me replacing one strut meets their service standards. If these are the dealer's service standards, I don't want any car that has been on their lot. They lost a $50k+ sale over literally a couple hundred dollars in parts that I could've replaced in my driveway in less than an hour.So thanks to Paul and Uptown Auto Specialist for pointing these things out and helping me dodge a bullet by getting to see how bad this dealership's service standards are.I've read other reviews about Paul being rude, I found that to be not the case. He's blunt, short, and straight to the point. Again, growing up in auto shops most mechanics I've been around are just that. It can be easily mistaken for being rude if you're not used to people being blunt with you.As far as price. I knew what the price was before getting there, if I thought it was unfair I wouldn't have gone.If I buy another used car, which it looks like I'll have to, I won't hesitate bringing it back here for another inspection. Hundreds of dollars now can save you thousands down the line.

Nice people, courteous. Dropped car off at 8am, 3:30pm now and I still haven't gotten a call for the "estimate". After reading other reviews decided to go get my car and bring it somewhere else. Guess they don't need th business.

OVERPRICED & RUDE!!! Do not support this shop. I never had such a bad experience in my life as much as I had with these people so rude they haven't done anything with my car and they charged me an overpriced
