Uchi Sushi & Hibachi

Was recommended this place by two friends and was told they had the best quality fish in Baton Rouge, especially relative to the price and they were right. I got 10 pieces of nigiri and the pieces were huge and the quality was amazing 10/10.The place doesn't have much staff, but it was fine being that I went at 3pm and it wasn't busy, but could see them needing more with quality like this.Hole in the wall atmosphere but with their prices you don't need to feel like you are at Nobu, but you get the quality of an upper scale sushi restaurant.

I am kinda shocked with the reviews for this place. When we walked in there wasn't a hostess and they said we could sit wherever we wanted. When we sat down we asked for sweet tea and they said they didn't have any yet and we could see the sweet tea and unsweetened tea in front of us in the drink station and the people next to us who sat after us got sweet tea. Their soft drinks are from the bottle which means you have to pay per refill. There were not many people there and our server was lacking. My boyfriend and I ordered a roll to share with some miso soup and my friend ordered two rolls. We all tried each other's rolls and we all agreed we did not like any of them. I had really high hopes for this place however we won't be coming back

Second time in for me, the server couldn't tell me what was in the Uchi Special Salad and after I asked him to find out, he forgot one of the ingredients between the sushi chef bar and my table. I have been waiting for about 20 minutes and still no food. The first time I came, the tempura was soaked in grease and the sushi rolls were rather small and easily fell apart. I didn't think I would return but I thought I would give them another shot after seeing a local food influencer post about them. Probably a zero chance I will be a repeat customer.

I can see why this sushi restaurant has such great reviews!It's conveniently located in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking. The space is much larger than it looks. There's plenty of seating and they can host groups of all sizes.The staff are all so friendly. I was warmly greeted and seated right away. I ordered a sushi sampler and it was fantastic. I loved everything from the salad to the miso soup to the beautiful plate of sushi. The prices were fair and the portions were appropriate. I am in town for work but I could definitely see myself returning here if ever in the area again!

This place is huge, great for any big gatherings that you may have. Their sushi is incredibly fresh and we enjoyed everything we got here! The menu is massive so you will definitely find something to your liking!

Always excited to try a new sushi restaurant. We started with the steak tataki. I do not recommend. The flavor was on point but the steak was not cut properly and over cooked. For sushi rolls we got the chocolate city, saint, spicy girl, and cucumber sashimi rolls. All were very good. The chocolate city and saint were very similar so I would necessarily order them both at the same time. The spicy girl was interesting because it was smokey. The cucumber sashimi was like a fancier cucumber nurruto. Will definitely go back.

Everything is amazing here from the staff to the food, my favorite sushi in BR. The rolls are bigger than normal and still very reasonably priced.

Food and service was amazing! Friendly staff and clean place. The sushi was delicious and reasonably priced. The portions were great, and my family and I shared 4 rolls and had some left over. My favorite roll was the saints roll. We had the Super Bowl roll, Audi roll, Saints roll and Chocolate city roll. All very good

Unbelievable sushi and incredible service. It was very clean and everyone is always so nice. This is our new favorite place
