darts and darts on a wall

I came here to see an acoustic show. Usually I would avoid any place that allows smoking, but you gotta do what you gotta do.The staff is friendly and the bartender was super nice and the sound for the show I attended was pretty impressive, considering this is just a dive bar. There are pool tables in the back and darts if you are into that type of thing. My biggest complaint is the smoke. I was only here about two and a half hours and I had to shower when I got home because I reeked of smoke and I had a headache because of the smoke. Maybe if they had better smoke eaters it would be tolerable, but I don't know. If you can tolerate cig smoke (it doesn't seem to bother a lot of people the way it bothers me), than this is definitely a cool spot to hang out and catch a show.

I came here with my partner-type-person for a battle of the bands type show. So, there is at least good music here. The bartender seemed attentive. The bathroom was kind of gross. The show was pretty good. I'm giving it two stars because the mixed drink I had tasted like a bunch of fruit juices with ice; I couldn't taste the alcohol. I'm a light drinker and a lightweight. If I couldn't taste the alcohol or feel its effect, then it really was a weak drink. I told my partner to get me a bottled apple cider when he asked me if I wanted another; I told him that whatever he paid for the mixed drink was more than it was worth.

The Twist Of Lime has the most amazing staff. From the door person the sound engineer and the owner are the best group of people and not to mention the Bartender she was amazing it was a packed bar and she was the only one behind the bar and she handled it like a Great bartender does. The show's they have are always great even if they only have one person there. The sound is amazing. Most definitely will be going back and telling everyone that i know to check it out

Pulled up to the bar and I was ecstatic. A friend invited me to a show here but we all know why I was really here. The logo on their building of a lime wearing sunglasses said it all. But then, things went sour instead of sweet. First off the inside looked like a torn apart barber shop with cheesy black and white tiles. The bar top was suppose to be Marble, kind of like how your uncle's firebird is suppose to have leather seats but just has covers over them that he bought at a gas station......basically it looked fake. The sound guy was doing a mic check for 10 minutes. I was here for a comedy show though, the mic sounded good 9 minutes ago. The smoking ban in New Orleans didnt make it to Metairie, and the bartender made sure I knew. Not because she told me, but because she was smoking and drinking. My drink was served in a plastic cup despite all the glasses visible beneath the bar. Also there are taps behind the bar, but literally no beer on tap. The bartender was mad when I said "whiskey coke" but didn't preface what type of whiskey right away, usually the well is implied.None of that matters though because I was here for one thing and one thing only. But when I asked the bartender if I could have one she said they didn't have any. THERE WERE NO LIMES!NO LIMES.AT TWIST OF LIME.ON LIME STREET......THEIR LOGO IS A LIME WEARING SUNGLASSES. A LITERAL FONZIE LIME.YET THERE ARE ZERO LIMES AT THE BAR .Only giving the 2nd star because the comedy was fantastic.

Loved this neighborhood bar in Metairie. You can smoke inside if you're a smoker and the drinks are cheap. Comedy shows are good and hilarious.

If I could give it a zero I would. When the bartender Brian had his 8th or 9th shot of straight liquor, he got mean. I don't think that should be allowed in a bar. Was never treated so rudely in my life. This is not a place I would ever go back to or recommend to an out of town visitor. There are a couple of much better places to go within the neighborhood that treat you like a human.

Small neighborhood bar across from the motel we used. Brian (bartender) was very friendly and helpful with recommendations for places to visit in NO. Met Garret (another local) who was also very friendly and informative on downtown spots to visit. Very friendly place. Didn't stay late enough for the show as we wanted to be up early.
