We chose this spot because it was walking distance from the Bourbon Hotel where we stayed. The LIVE music is what brought us in and decide to grab something to eat. Instead of sitting in the front we opted for the patio, nice and chill but can still hear the music. For the food, we ordered the wings and fries, jambalaya, fish and shrimp, side of mashed potatoes. Top favorite was the lemon pepper wings! They were fried so good but still juicy on the inside. We even ordered some to go! Jambalaya was my second favorite...good seasoning, nice and flavorful. Mashed potatoes were my third favorite....whipped up nice, good taste, nice garnish. Calvin was the cook that night...and he did his thing! We also had a nice waitress, Erica. The live band was so good! They did a mix of rock/pop to start but then transitioned to some smooth R&B....and topped it off with Tennessee Whiskey! There was a guy on drums, guy on the guitar, girl on the piano and I think a 4th guy. Everybody could sing and play an instrument. They were so good! There was also another band with 3 guys that came up afterwards. We didn't catch their set but heard them when we walked past later and they were just as good. Overall, Tipsy Trumpet is a great place for good food and live music. So much so that we came back the next day! lol! Food was just as good...no live music but the music they played from the speakers was good too! Y'all go check out the Tipsy Trumpet! You won't regret it. One last note...we didn't get a drink last night but today Kelsey fixed us a Green Tea shot and it was goooddd! One more last note...Sam just got on the piano...and I'm loving it already!

The live music here is amazing, and it is a casual spot that you can go to hang out with friends and have a bite to eat. Our server seemed a bit overwhelmed and unhappy but she didn't take whatever was on her mind out on us, it was more of a passing observation. We didn't order a meal here but had a couple of drinks and beignet fries with strawberry sauce, which was pretty good. Would be back for the music and to try actual food.

The Tipsy Trumpet in New Orleans is a gem that perfectly captures the city's vibrant spirit. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with a warm, lively atmosphere. The jazz-infused decor, with its vintage brass instruments and cozy lighting, sets the perfect tone for a night out.The cocktail menu is a delightful mix of classic and innovative creations. I tried their signature "Brass Bell" cocktail, and it was a masterpiece--perfectly balanced with a refreshing citrus twist and a hint of spice. The bartenders are clearly skilled and passionate about their craft, making each drink feel like a work of art. What truly stood out was the live jazz performance. The musicians were incredibly talented, and their energy was infectious. It's the kind of music that makes you want to tap your feet and lose yourself in the rhythm. The service was impeccable, with staff who were attentive without being intrusive, adding to the overall relaxed yet upscale vibe.If you're in New Orleans and want an authentic, unforgettable night of great drinks and music, the Tipsy Trumpet is a must-visit. It's the perfect blend of charm, creativity, and classic New Orleans flair.

The Tipsy Trumpet is a must visit spot for live music and a great assortment of cocktails. The bar tenders were very attentive and this place has all the right vibes. I didn't try the food, but the energy is right and the cocktails are well crafted and service is top notch.

DELICIOUS!!! Split the 1/2 Fried Fish & 1/2 Fried Shrimp platter with a side of Gumbo. It was amazing. Service was fantastic - even the manager came by to say hi and ask us if we were doing ok. We were seated almost immediately. They had a live performer and a fun crowd of patrons which made the ambiance perfect. To top it all off, the bathroom was very clean.PS: Their mocktails are solid. I had 2.

We walked out. Service was none existing. Bartender had NO personality. Never as much asked if we wanted to order. Place wasn't even busy. I refuse to give them my money after such treatment. Two thumbs way down.

My experience was great. While visiting New Orleans with my husband in November '24 we were there 3 times. Our bartender Dareyon surprised and shocked me in a good way when she wrote words of congratulations on the receipt in our mother language. And they were words of love. And... it happened on our 18th anniversary. I couldn't believe it! The food was good, drinks were fine as well. Overall, highly recommend. But I would love to hear more jazz/instrumental covers of popular songs like we did on the first night - Nov 12th. On other two nights the band was just having a jam session. Which I didn't like that much.
