This is a spot where the service industry frequents. It was fun to see people hanging out and enjoying themselves. It's a dive bar but you can stop in and grab a drink and take it all over. I do I'm t know if they had food. Nice old school spot.

I love this place, great drinks and amazing bartenders. One of the best bars in New Orleans. 5 stars all around.

We came here because a google search for New Orleans trivia nights listed this as one of them. When we got here they said they haven't had trivia for years. But that aside, the bartender was nice and they had some decent drink specials so we stayed for a drink. It's a small place but the other customers, I assume locals, were friendly. As a tourist I don't know that I'd recommend this place but if you are local and/or want a decent drink at a good price maybe stop on in!

Our bartender Grace made us feel at home here. We love the vibe and simplicity of the place and really enjoyed getting to talk to the locals. It was great being away from the hustle and bustle of Bourbon St which isn't really our thing. We'll definitely be returning before our trip is over and wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Upper Quarter to friends who plan to visit NOLA.

Walked down to this joint after the Three Legged Dog. A small clean well lit pub with bottled beer, drinks and chips. Frequented by locals and friendly people. Good time watching football highly recommended.

The overall bar is pretty good but the bartender is a pure asshole he's very rude with a horrible attitude I asked for two whisky and Coke and I asked him to put the nice lady sitting next to drink on my tab he makes my drinks proceeds to make a third drink and all I said was I only ordered two drinks and paying for the drink the lady already has he immediately gets angry starts yelling at me snatches my card then told me I can get tf out I was so confused and speechless locals saw what happened and said he's always like that and they hates when he works because he's always nasty and rude to customers

I've spent a lot of time thinking of how to properly explain my love of this bar. Short story: it's a locals paradise. The bartenders and other patrons will quickly know your name. It's the "Cheers" of the French Quarter. Few tourists and plenty of love. (but tourists are definitely welcome and will get the same warmth upon entering). Cheap drinks and usually a few dogs to pet. The owners pour their love into this bar and it shows. You might find it empty or it might be so full you can't find a barstool to sit on. Either way, you're likely to find a friend. Long story:Six years ago I went on a bar crawl with a group of friends. We had never been here and walked in for a quick drink. The bar was next to empty, and although the drinks were cheap and the music was good, we were ready to head on. Everyone except for my husband - he's a real chatty Cathy and had developed a deep conversation with a man at least 40 years our senior. During my attempt to get my husband to wrap it up the older gentleman began telling us about Saints Sunday's at the bar and why we should come for the following game day. He began telling us "We all take pudding shots for touchdowns and we're all so proud of the bar" his use of the word "we" led us to believe he was an owner. When we asked if he held ownership in the bar he said "no, but we all kind of own it. It's our bar. It's the neighborhoods bar and we're all proud". Done. Sold. Any bar that the patrons loved so much they took pride in its success and felt a sense of ownership I was down to be at. My husband and I dutifully went the following Sunday and every single thing that man told us was true. (Shoutout Caesar) It's fun. It's wild. There's pudding shots. There's the purest sense of community. Six years later this is the only bar I deem worthy of watching the Saints. More importantly - six years later this bar has become another home, a safe place, a family. Come here. In a city filled with dive bars I can honestly tell you this bar is one of a kind.
