Everything about this place is awesome. Staff was SO FRIENDLY, space was clean and cozy. They have a community kitchen with a stove, freezer, coffee pot, and tables. There was a full size fridge and freezer in the room as well. The area is just darling. Very young area...definitely artists. There is a darling little outdoor garden area with tables too. About a 15-20 minute walk to the French Quarter. I can't say enough! We will definitely be back!

I'm updating my review and lowering my rating. I still like the location, and the rooms are normally clean, but this time, there was a huge water stain on our bathroom ceiling, and it was so humid I had trouble sleeping. The room was so moist that the sheets felt like baby wipes. (And, yes, I know New Orleans is always humid. I lived there for a year. This was different.)

Terrible. Worn out mattresses. Worn out bed frame. Dirty. No door on bath vanity. Rusted and broken TP holder. Breakfast room with no breakfast. Only gross coffee from a home style Mr coffee machine. We only stayed here because we couldn't find any other hotels in the whole city when we made our reservation. Once we got there we realize that it was because the NCAA finals were going on. Unless you're down on your lock or went to pretend that you are don't stay here

I thought I was making a wise move to stay here with so many other options in the area being so expensive and the reviews at the Treme being so great...boy was I wrong!!!!We stay for one night last week. When we arrived to The Treme, we immediately dropped off our bags and went directly to enjoy what New Orleans has to offer. We returned to the hotel around 11PM and immediately found out that the last room guest left the toilet clogged with crap. I went down to the office to report this gross issue (not sure how the housekeeper missed this when cleaning the room), and he told me that the repair man was off duty for the night and that we would have to use the bathroom by the lobby (hotel was full so no other rooms available). I asked if I could just borrow the plunger, but he said that was not an option. So my wife and I slept in a room that reeked of crap and had to run downstairs to use the bathroom if we needed to go in the middle of the night. When we woke up in the AM to go out for breakfast, I reminded the same clerk about the toilet issue but it remained unfixed even after returning from eating. We refused to shower due to the smell in the bathroom and had to wait to clean up when we boarded our cruise ship. This was extremely unacceptable and possibly even a health code violation. If this was not enough, the carpeting was filthy and the advertised laundry machine was broken as well.I did try calling and emailing after our return home, but no manager/owner replied.Pay the extra money and stay elsewhere!!

I was accompanying my wife who was attending a conference in New Orleans with lodging provided at the Sheraton. We decided to go a day earlier on a Friday to have some time to see New Orleans together on Saturday. Since we did not want to pay $300 for sleeping 8 hours, we looked at more economical alternatives. We came across the Treme Hotel on Tripadvisor as it had consistently high ratings by customers. However, after seeing the pictures and surrounding neighborhood, we initially decided against it. It seemed like a very very old area with dilapidated homes on Google maps. But after hours of searching for a hotel less than $200 with good reviews, we gave up and booked this place with trepidation. It was 9.30 PM when we arrived straight from the Louis Armstrong airport in New Orleans. The lady - Lynn at the front desk was surprisingly very helpful. Our original booking had two double beds but she was able to find us a different room with a single King bed. Lynn also walked us through their breakfast room and explained what they offered every morning which was basic - Juice, Yogurt, Bagels, Donuts etc. The room was neat and clean with no frills. The bed was comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. The room also included a mini refrigerator, microwave and a TV.Parking is charged at $10 per day which we thought was very reasonable for New Orleans. As a comparison, the Sheraton charges $45 per day plus tips to the valet. Rather than pay $50 at the Sheraton, we requested the Treme hotel if we could park our car overnight and they had absolutely no issues even though we were no longer staying there! We parked our car there for 2 nights for $20 - at one-fifth the cost! The only catch was getting to and from the Sheraton to pick up and drop the car - we used Uber - $5 per trip. The hotel has video cameras across their parking lot which is monitored 24 X 7 by the receptionist. As a disclaimer, they do have a sign on their gate saying they are not responsible for any damage to the vehicle. This is a small risk if you already have auto insurance of your own. Was saving $80 worth it for 2 nights ? You make the call. But it worked out for us.If you are on a budget looking for a basic room (less than $100) close to downtown and Canal street, then don't waste your time searching further, just book this hotel. I would highly recommend it.

Found this hidden gem on trip advisor and let me tell you my boyfriend and I loved this hotel. The staff was very nice and attentive and the rooms were clean. The location of this hotel is perfect only a mile away from the nearest "touristy" areas, the neighborhood is quiet and it's very easy to get a lyft or uber. I can't wait to visit New Orleans again,I will definitely be staying here.

This place far exceeded my expectations. All the reviews that mention the friendly and accommodating staff are spot on....but there isn't a way to accurately describe how friendly everyone is!The grounds, room and building were clean and tidy. Centrally located. $9 cab ride to and from Bourbon. $6-7 Uber. Don't recommend walking to and from the French Quarter as it is a deceptively long walk. The breakfast each morning is small, but filling. Eggs, sausage, fresh baked biscuits, bagels, OJ, milk, yogurt, cereal...I will stay here every time I come to NOLA in the future!

This is a great hotel with a great location, friendly staff, etc. but they have a mold problem. If you have asthma from mold, expect to use your inhaler here. We found some on a pillow case too.
