I wish I had taken more pictures so you all could see how awesome this little place is! I didn't because I thought it would be awkward with both staff members standing there watching me lol. It is a small pet store and they carry some unique stuff. I found the best ball money could buy here! It's virtually indestructible! My dog used to tear up tennis balls the same day, and this one I got here was his friend til the end. He couldn't destroy it. It was his favorite toy. The staff (I recognized both from the Pit Bulls and Parolees show) was really helpful and informative. They really know a lot about the breed and made good purchase recommendations without ever seeing my massive pup.

This shop is awesome and I love that all proceeds go towards helping the dogs at Villalobos Rescue Center. My husband and I traveled to New Orleans last year and had to stop by this store. The gentleman working there was very helpful and friendly. We didn't have our dog yet at the time we visited, but still wanted to help their organization. I ended buying myself a cute t-shirt and hubby put a donation in their donation box. I wish we had more time to visit Tahyo Tavern too. I'm looking forward to visiting both during my next visit to New Orleans.

Had plans on my annual New Orleans trip to visit this store. On my last day in town stopped by. Wow......are these people freaking rude. Worst customer service ever seen in a store. Will never visit again nor Will I support their organization. Lady at counter refused to help us , was to busy on her phone and guy putting signs out was so busy he couldn't even return my hi.I will spend my money elsewhere and support another rescue organization.Don't visit , not worth your time.

I love the VRC- and anything to support them- I love too. Support this store folks especially if you're in New Orleans. Ms. tia and her family and crew do a lot of great work and this lil' shop has some great stuff for your pups! And humans too! Got myself an awesome VRC sweater and my pup a "don't bully my breed" shirt!

In the chaos of the quarter this was a nice surprise. No noisy televisions. No drunken college kids. This place was clean and service was exceptional. We had some local beers and the best cheeseburgers ever! Also, you must try the garlic mayo with your fries. The bar is named for the owner's dog. Translated the word means something like big dog or hungry dog. They donate proceeds to animal shelters! There are pics of dogs everywhere. Bring the kids, bring the parents... drop in and enjoy.

I would like to give 0 stars but cannot provide a review with zeros stars.I am disappointed. Today is my last day in New Orleans and I was looking forward to shopping at The Tayho all week. I arrived late afternoon, well in advance of their stated closing time, and found the store closed. Although the light was on, the doors were padlocked from the outside. An individual in a nearby store told me that sometimes they close during the day unexpectedly and then open later. He suggested I check again to see if they had returned; they had not. If visiting the shop is the only/main reason for being in the area, I suggest calling to ensure they are open.Tayho staff. I understand you may be understaffed. However, I went out of my way to visit your shop. Although I had a small window of time, I might have been able to wait if a note had been left in the window indicating when you would return; assuming you were returning.
