First, I love you can just type in skeleton house in maps and find this. Second, it WAS very crowded when we went however everyone took turns getting up to the fence and moving along. There are soooooooooooo many skeletons!!!!! So much to see and laugh at! Super easy to get to. This is definitely worth a visit!!

This incredible community experience is provided annually by the homeowners - with dedication, they have built an impressive personality skeleton boneyard, naming each one with hilarious and personal devotion to the city's and country's many characters. A not to be missed Halloween outing.

It's not a business but it was a fantastic place to begin trick or treating this year.

I absolutely adore this piece of New Orleans culture. I've heard of the skeleton house before, and seen plenty of pictures but it's not the same as going in person. After riding past on the streetcar several times, I hopped off for a closer look and proceeded to laugh until I cried. They seem to have more skeletons every year, and definitely new jokes although you'd think they'd run out by now. The whole thing is just delightful good fun, and I look forward to seeing what next year brings as well.Once you're done reading puns, snapping pictures, and laughing so hard you start wheezing, I do recommend taking a wander through the neighborhood to admire the other architecture and the other Halloween decorations. The city takes it pretty seriously and there are some excellent displays.

We look forward to visiting every year. It's so creative and fun. The Taylor Swift skeletons (with Travis "Skelce") stole the show. As my teen daughter said, they really ate that up. I agree.

Why didn't the skeleton cross the road? Because he had no guts.Unless he lives at the Skeleton House on St. Charles and State Street. Why leave the boneyard when you live at the most Boo-tiful address in New Orleans. Grab a Ben Yay at Mourning Call. Catch a ride with the DEADverly KILLbillies in the CARcass. Go dancing with MARROW-lyn Monroe. She is drop dead gorgeous with her great bone structure.Love music? Pelvis Presley and Pelvis Costello are joined at the hips. Trombone Shorty gives a great show.Love a great wedding. Got cold feet? Remember it is until death do you part. Or visit the Dead Sea. See Albert EinSPINE or Scary Potter. Or Tulane President Mike Fists GREEN WAVE. Remember to visit the next door neighbors. They are trying to Keep up with the Bones. So when you visit the Pearly Gates at the Skeleton House, May the Corpse Be With You. Happy Halloween!

This Midwesterner enjoys the annual display and am so happy to have made it again in 2024. It's so worth the diversion from the French Quarter to go see this treasure!
