I recently stayed at the Ritz-Carlton on Canal Street in New Orleans during early December, and it was truly an incredible experience. The hotel was beautifully decorated for the holidays, with sparkling Christmas trees, festive lights, and thoughtful touches that created a warm and magical atmosphere. One of the highlights of my visit was the live jazz music in the hotel restaurant on Wednesday and Saturday evenings. The talented musicians filled the space with soulful sounds, creating an unforgettable dining experience that truly captured the essence of New Orleans. It was the perfect backdrop for enjoying a fantastic meal.Speaking of treats, the hotel offered hot coffee and freshly made beignets in the lobby every evening, which added an extra layer of charm to the stay. The beignets were perfection--light, airy, and generously dusted with powdered sugar. Sipping coffee and indulging in these classic New Orleans delights while soaking in the ambiance made for such a relaxing and enjoyable way to wind down each night. The service at the hotel was impeccable, especially from the banquet and conference staff. I attended an event during my stay, and the team went above and beyond to make it a success. They were professional, friendly, and attentive, and the food they served was outstanding. From rich, flavorful gumbo to expertly prepared seafood, every dish was a testament to New Orleans' culinary heritage.Overall, the Ritz-Carlton on Canal Street delivered a flawless blend of holiday magic, world-class service, and authentic New Orleans charm. Whether it was the beautiful decorations, the live jazz, or the simple pleasure of enjoying a warm beignet in the lobby, every moment of this trip felt special. I can't wait to return!

We stayed here last week for a conference we were attending that was being held on-site. The hotel is located a block from Bourbon Street. First impression: hotel was pretty elegant. Decor was very classic and upscale. Front desk attendant who checked us in was extremely friendly. Seemed like a good start to a nice stay right? Our room was nice and clean. Pretty spacious. After a long day of traveling, I decided to take a shower. I checked my bag and noticed that I forgot my shampoo. No big deal. They should have some in the shower. Welp I was wrong. The only toiletries we received were a small round bar of soap and a bottle of lotion. This was the first time staying at the Ritz so I figured they did lot offer shampoo and conditioner? We had to make a snack run anyways so we decided to go across the street to Walgreens to grab a small bottle. The next day I called and asked and they did confirm that they offer shampoo, conditioner, and body gel and sent someone up to bring them. Why were they missed in the first place? Finally laid down to relax and the remote was missing. Looked all over the room. Nowhere to be found. Called concierge and they had housekeeping bring up a new remote. Back in the bed to relax and turn on the TV. The TV wasn't working. I called the concierge and they said they would have someone take a look at it tomorrow. Fast forward, next day. No one ever came. I ended up calling again and they finally sent someone up to repair the TV. I was working remote and decided to stay in for lunch. I ordered room service. I called in and they said it would take 25-30 minutes. An hour passes so I called in and apparently there was a mishap and they would be sending up food. I had gotten room service the day before and had ordered the Turkey Club with salad. I thought it was phenomenal so I decided to order it again with fries. The fries were cold and undercooked. The bread on the sandwich was cold and hard. The highlight was the beautiful rose that came with the meal. I must say though that the beignet cart downstairs was simply amazing! Better than Cafe Du Monde! The lady who was handing them out was super friendly. And shout out to the doorman who was SOOOO helpful and super friendly. He was super accommodating. Wish I had gotten his name. Overall, our stay was just okay. I did expect a different lever of service due to the price tag. Not providing the basics like toiletries and a working TV is just surprising. I've had better stays at less expensive hotels. Maybe it was an off visit.

OH MY WORD! What a relaxing stay! The hubs and I enjoyed beating the NOLA heat by barring ourselves into the Ritz, and it was bloody fantastic. We usually opt for other hotels when visiting New Orleans, but after this visit-- never again. The Ritz NOLA is firing on all cylinders, and the remodel has served them well. The Ritz standard (with all the special, added touches) is met here and the staff is fantastic. The club lounge is really nice with plenty of cozy seating areas and great food and beverage options. We loved the club schedule. Shouts out to Hillarey and Raychelle. Amari, at The Davenport, gave us great service as well. As expected, the rooms are clean, beautifully decorated, and extra comfortable.Honorable Mention: Of my many NOLA trips, The Ritz NOLA's beignets are THE BEST (softest, tastiest, and pillowy-est) I've ever had in the entire city. I was literally flabbergasted at this discovery-- I had no idea, and now I'll never be the same. Not bad at all for a quick, 3-day getaway!

It has been 11 years since my last visit, and I think I spent enough time here for it to warrant a worthy update. I would like to note, I have been to New Orleans 3 times, with the first time staying at the Navy base, and the other 2 times, here. I think after my last visit, I really don't have a reason to stray away from this place.I would like to start that a dear friend of mine had always had New Orleans on her bucket list. Her 35th birthday was coming up, and I asked if she could get some time off. The stars aligned, and we were able to make it happen. I picked staying here again because I would like to have given it another chance, and my last stays at the Ritz (in Cairo was my most recent) were memorable. I got with concierge and I was connected with Eranisha Grant (huge shout out!)- she was able to make our arrival extra special and helped us out with things along the way. If you ever see her, please give her a high five for me! For this visit, I decided to get an executive suite, which has a decent amount of space, and it was nice and quiet along the way. I can tell from the last visit, that the hotel had undergone some renovations- it looked really nice and I appreciated the extra details.I did notice though (however it has been a while), that the toiletries were no longer from Asprey (purple water)- but were from another brand (how dare I forgot). I am not sure if this was just from the local, or if RC got a new partnership. I kind of liked the smell of the new stuff better, TBH (didn't make my skin as dry either, however we were in 95% humidity lol).On one night, we were trying to get a cemetery bus tour, but for some reason the tour company skunked us and never showed up, so we were pretty tired at that point, and decided to come back and get room service. It was pretty tasty, and fulfilling as well. You can even order drinks from the bar. They is even a little device you can push for cart retrieval, but after about 45 minutes, I put the cart outside the room (I was pretty tired at that point, didnt want to get awaken). It looked like they came to get it.The parking setup is the same, but I did not bring a car this time, however, we were greeted every morning by the very kind doorman. He always wished us well on our journeys out to the city. The spa was one thing we were going to look at, but ended up not having enough time. I think there is a casual cafe there as well, but never went in there either. We decided to look at the fitness center and the pool, as I never did before- and it was nice and quiet, but the pool is more of a resistance style. There is a hot tub if you need it. Since it is on the first floor and near the conference rooms, you probably want to bring a change of clothes with you, since you are going to be on 2 different elevators and going through a few public places. My room didn't have club access (it looked like it was sold out when I tried to book, unless I wanted to spend 6K a night for the big suite)- but I heard that was re-modeled and a great place to eat breakfast and recap at. On the last day, I decided to do some laundry, as the second part of my trip I was going to Romania and I didn't want to bring a huge suitcase- so I got my clothes cleaned. It wasn't the cheapest, but they did a nice job and I was ready to go with my travel backpack. I guess that is the beauty of paying for convenience. I really do like the location- being at the base of the French Quarter and the base of the Central Business District. It is about a 15 minute (flat) walk to Jackson square and the street cars are right out front. Just a block away is the hustle and bustle of Bourbon Street (but honestly, im more a Royal/Chartres street kind of guy)- and plenty of great food options.I always felt safe here, and again it wasn't too loud either, which made it nice. They have plenty of room options here, and some that include balconies. If you are looking for a nice place with a solid location, I highly recommend it here, I think you will see it isn't too shabby.

Only Three Stars - and I'm being generous. We stayed during the holiday season, so we were expecting it to be a bit busier than normal, but what confronted us - we were not expecting. The entire hotel was overtaken by non-guests who wanted to take pictures and go to the bar. In fact, we as guests were unable to go to the bar or enjoy the holiday offerings because....crowds of rowdy, rude, pushy non-guests were there. All over.... The room was fine (nothing that blew us away) and the in-room shower was the best part of the stay. Last point: hotel is not really in the French quarter; it's adjacent (in the business district) and every where we went was at least a 15 min walk.

Why do I like this hotel? Security plain and simple. Now it has alot of other attributes but let's talk security for a second. There are some questionable individuals here just like others cities but I challenge them to get in this hotel. I was a guest and I had a difficult time getting to my room! Lol, I'm definitely not hating on it , just the opposite.Rooms clean, staff exceptional, bathroom soaps and hair products to die for. And don't think I'm saying this because I happened to ride in the elevator with a Tampa Bay Buccaneer early in the morning on Sunday. I got in the elevator and saw this gorgeous giant of a man in the elevator and we exchanged pleasantries ( I'm a friendly girl!) and wondered what and who in the world could this be? I walked out on the street and all these fancy buses were there and a heavy police presence but being the doofus I am I thought it must be a convention so I made that comment to one of the many policemen. He laughed and said "Lady the Bucs are staying here". How bout dat!And who doesn't love a champagne vending machine!!! Bye Diet Coke!

We just spent 4 nights at the Ritz prior to a concert. It is centrally located, just a block from Bourbon street and a few blocks to the nicer parts of the French Quarter. The hotel is nice, a little dated, but clean. The real star of the hotel is Sean the doorman. He was always welcoming, grabbed our bags and walked us up to the reception area. He made many great suggestions for restaurants and jazz bars. He also made sure that we were aware of the multiple parades happening around town. He is amazing and deserves the best recognition.

Came to the Ritz Carlton in New Orleans for an important business conference. Had two issues with the room and front desk never followed up.First, my room phones kept flashing that I had a message, I called the front desk twice and each time they said they tried to fix and the next fix would do it. I finally had to disconnect the phones and place them in the closet.Second, the bathtub paint was peeling and when I mentioned they stated that they would look to change my room in the morning. I never heard back from them again.Would have expected more from a Ritz Carlton and will unfortunately need to share this with our vendor who hosted the event.
