I'm so glad I ran into this precious little gem in the French Quarter! I wanted to get a gift for a friend that knits and I had no clue what type of yard to get her, the ladies here were just so patient and helpful. I showed the pictures of my friends knitting projects and they quickly guided me on what yarn type to get her. Their packaging is just adorable, ready to gift with a colorful bow and their card attached, made this a perfect memorable gift for my friend. I mailed it out to her and she was so stoked!! I wish I caught the ladies names that helped me out , anyhow... this was the best service and such an adorable business. I'm so glad I stopped by!!

Small store, but a ton of yarn and things related. Friendly employees. Prices are a bit on the high side, but this is a prime location in the Quarter.

I absolutely love this Needle Point store. They have an eclectic array of wonderful canvases, including animals, Christmas stockings, traditional, New Orleans, art, and more. I purchased two canvases that came with the traditional wool yarn. I'm absolutely thrilled with both of them. I love the people who work here they're so friendly and helpful whenever I'm in New Orleans. I always try to stop in this wonderful Needle Point store. They also have knitting supplies as well.

I stumbled onto this yarn shop while exploring Jackson Square. I love that they focus on local dyers at the front of the store and that they have a wide variety of yarns in different weights. While there was kind of a lot going on with both cross stitch and yarn being displayed, overall I found the place charming.

I was really glad to see there was a yarn shop in the French Quarter, so we made it a point to stop by while we were near Jackson Square. This is a great yarn shop! I like to try to grab a skein or two of local yarn when we travel and this was the perfect place to find a high quality "souvenir" to take home from NOLA. The shop owner was very friendly and helpful and I found her to be extremely knowledgeable about the yarns. I didn't purchase any patterns, but her needlepoint/cross stich patterns were lovely, too. I will definitely pop back in to grab some additional yarn the next time I'm in town.

Great looking store, organized, local artists' patterns and textiles, but awful service. My partner and I visited to have a look around. The French Quarter seems an unusual place for a needlepoint and yarn store, but was were amazed by the unique kits that adorned the walls. Sore really fantastic stuff. We were less impressed by the complete and total ignoring of our presence as human beings even when we were the only other people in the store. My partner knots, crochets, and does some needlework, but after both folks behind the counter turned their backs on us, we headed out. They had been chatty with the group of older women who just left. Unfortunate.

Charming yarn shop just feet from Jackson Square. Inveterate crocheters and knitters from out of town and around the world should stop, buy something. Later you can say to your friends, with a snobby air, "oh yes, I found this off Jackson Square, or was it Paris, at Place des Voges? Heavens, I don't remember."

The way I feel about art stores is the same way I feel about stores overflowing with whimsical needlepoint canvases, colorful threads, and the sort of people who gravitate to this stuff. That is: they put me in my happy place. I'm not the fastest needleworker out there and going into a shop like The Quarter Stitch forces me to exercise restraint. I can look around my home and find two needlepoint canvasses in progress and one completed but not yet blocked. So, as the enablers encouraged me to get a canvas here "as a souvenir of our vacation" the realist in me asked about their web site and took a bunch of photos. The Quarter Stitch has some really great, vibrant canvasses, ones I've not seen elsewhere. Staff explained that their web site isn't all that but that they're very good at picking out something you'll like, just call them and talk about what you like or share photos and they'll enable you quite successfully. The store also features, equally, the stuff that knitters and crochet-people need. Whether or not you do needlepoint, if you walk into The Quarter Stitch during your time in NOLA you might just find yourself picking up a new hobby. If that's already a hobby? Don't miss this fun and inspiring shop.
