Came to a wedding in New Orleans and wanted to be close to the French Quarter. Nice place to stay. Eclectic in a way,It's a boutigue kind of place. Charming. I liked it. I will see you again some day Old 77.

Really nice and cute hotel located in a great spot in town. Easy to walk around near the riverwalk, casino and downtown. The service was welcoming and friendly. Rooms were very clean. Bed was comfy. The only thing was the walls here seem a bit thin, could hear people in the hallways. Nicely designed and easy to explore the city from. Overall not bad, would come back to.

My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Old No 77! The establishment was a perfect marriage of the past and present. In addition, their art gallery was cool and provided an intimate look into NOLA. Unfortunately, I had to deduct one star for an instance that fell short from spectacular.First, several hotels offer microwaves for customers to warm their leftovers from restaurants. I went to the front desk, and the representative said that the hotel does not offer microwaves, was not sympathetic, and did not bother to offer recommendations for microwaving left overs.I don't understand what was the point of having a large refrigerator with little beverages for sale inside the room, if we can only store our food in the fridge (yet not microwave). If the front desk had provided suggestions on how we can microwave our leftovers, then I would have given five stars.

The Good:1. Old 77 is well located and has an excellent restaurant. 2. The room we stayed in was large. 3. Snacks and drinks in honor bar are reasonable. The Bad: 1. The rumors of it being haunted is bunk, the walls are so thin that you don't hear bumps in the night, you hear EVERYTHING and when people are arriving back at the hotel drunk at 2 am they aren't thinking about being quiet in the halls, in their rooms or in their beds.2. The rooms are beaten up, it appears that the decor was quite stylish at some point but everything is scratched up and worn out. 3. The hallway give the appearance of a welfare hotel. The hallways are very dark and dimly lit maybe in the hope that it'll disguise the condition of the hotel. The carpets are disgusting (see photos) The Ugly1. Fire alarms went off at 2am the night before we checked out. No staff member came outside to let the guests know what was going on. Finally someone with some knowledge walked in to the hotel, and guests followed. An employee was kind of chilling behind the lobby desk and said unapologetically "false alarm." The next morning we checked out quite early and the employee at the front desk wasn't even made aware by the night crew that an alarm had occurred. A free cup of coffee being offered would've been a nice touch but no.

We had a such a good stay here! It's a very old and historic building, right in the heart of New Orleans with lots of Luisiana charm and hospitality. The bar and lobby area can be rather noisy when it's hot but it's a great place to get out of the muggy heat for sure! They offer complimentary water and have a well-stocked minibar in the room with creative extras for adults. My only complaint, which is more personal, is the lack of views from our room. There was a window that looked out to a brick wall lol. If you want to see out onto the water, I would recommend requesting that in your booking. Overall, I would definitely recommend staying here for the price and location!

Very cool lobby and restaurant with a fun art gallery in a great location, easy walk to the French quarter and other great dining/entertainment options. Was surprised no housekeeping was provided during our 3 night stay (if you needed to request it we were not informed of this upon check-in). The fridge in the room was locked so we couldn't store any leftovers and the front desk ran out of keys to open it! Was creeped out to read online about the haunted room on our floor but luckily we didn't have any paranormal experiences. The TV had some weird connectivity issues but we chalked this up to a bandwidth problem. They offered free bikes for exploring the neighborhood too which was cool, though we didn't use them. Overall a nice enough stay but we probably won't be back.

A volleyball tournament brought us in town. We were delighted when we arrived at the hotel and came into our super cute, clean room. After a long day at the convention center playing volleyball, we came back to the hotel and needed new towels...due to a water spill we cleaned up. We were advised to throw our soiled towels outside the door and new ones would arrive. After waiting nearly an hour, we called the front desk. They must have had a shift change bc it wasn't the woman we requested towels from. The extremely RUDE front desk agent said there weren't any towels and someone would bring them eventually and hung up in my face. We went downstairs to speak in person bc how does a hotel not have any extra towels? The man working the night shift- who came in at 11, was extremely rude and confrontational. We were given a bath rug and 3 hand towels to bathe with. When we expressed our frustration- he got offended and was beyond rude telling us "two can tango" and "put that in your review. I don't care". I hadn't even mentioned making a review. How in the world can someone with ZERO customer service skills work front desk of such a beautiful hotel? Do better, management.

A Hidden Gem in New Orleans!I've stayed at The Old 77 Hotel twice, and it's become one of my go-to places in New Orleans. The vintage charm, unique rooms, and exceptional location make it a top choice. Whether I was attending the Jazz Festival or enjoying my honeymoon, this boutique hotel always delivered. The rooms are comfortable and stylish, and the staff is welcoming. Don't be deterred by some negative reviews: the building's history adds character, they're inclusive to all guests, parking is convenient, and resort fees are standard. Highly recommended!

I recently stayed at the old 77 hotel while in town for a convention. I chose this hotel for its location, walkable to the convention center and walkable to the French Quarter. The price was decent, given my last-minute booking, and in comparison to some of the other hotels in townCheck-in was easy, and the staff were friendly. The room was spacious, almost awkwardly so given that there was very little furniture in the room. I felt that the space in front of the couch needed a coffee table or some thing (see photos). The old hardwood floors creak and the walls are paper thin. I could hear every conversation happening in the room next-door. If you are a light sleeper, I would definitely recommend bringing earplugs. My room also unfortunately butted up against the elevators so I could hear those running all night long.It was also odd to me that my room had no window - well it had a window, but it went to a elevator shaft type opening, which provided no natural light. It was very disorienting, because I never knew what time it was without the natural light. The bed was comfortable, but the sheets were scratchy and paper thin. The shower had wonderful water pressure and plenty of hot water. All in all, not the best hotel I have stayed at in New Orleans but you get what you pay for.

Pros: great location within walking distance to the French Quarter, Jackson Square, the streetcar, and all the touristy things. The lobby is charming and staff was friendly. Cons: the floors and chairs in the room are old and creaky, and we could hear movement from our neighbors above and next to us. The "interior windows" just look into 1x1 shafts with no light--not worth the extra money. The only water station was in the fitness center, but we weren't told about this until our third day there. Other things to note: the bar/restaurant in the lobby is popular! Expect extra foot traffic in the lobby during evenings. There are no coffeemakers or free coffee/hot water in the lobby. Overall, we had a decent stay. If you're going to be exploring the city and not spending a ton of time at the hotel, this will do.
