The Oaks Wedding & Events Center

I am a close family member, I paid for part of the wedding... and the outside ceremony was gorgeous, interior is very nice; food, ok but not "Louisiana Tasty"; all-in all, a worthy wedding venue contender. Now, the reason it got dragged down to 2 Stars... the wedding host, maybe Taylor? (the blonde). We (14 of the immediate family of the bride) were sent to no less than 4 locations outside and around the venue "to avoid" seeing the bride...1st spot inside, "sit here and face the wall, Do Not Turn Around!" - ok, at least there is a/c. Two minutes later, "Go outside and sit under the Oaks". We herd outside, sit on what looks like dry chairs (some more than others), only to be moved yet again, to the front porch via 12x12 wobbly pavers sitting in standing water from the earlier monsoon. When I stood up, I found my rear end damp.. I told the host "you may want to do another wipe down of the chairs" in a polite and helpful manner, no less! She, with cold bossy attitude replies, "They have already been wiped". "I realize this, but some need a second wipe as mine was wet", I reply. Unbelievably she states, "You will be fine", and ushers me forward with an aggravating, sweeping of her hand and points me to the paver path. We then stand out front as directed, only to be told to move to the side parking lot...in rocky gravel; all this in gowns, heels, and their attitude. People were in utter disbelief of the chaos and crass - the host deserves 1 Star and that's terrible as she is the venue representative. She was rude, overly bossy in chaotic directions, and stressed; I never once saw her smile or extend true hospitality. Maybe she hates her job, maybe she has personal stress, maybe she needs to have an etiquette class on how to a host.... I have no idea her issue, but wedding host, is the reason I wouldn't recommend this venue to others and the low star rating. 5 stars for exterior decor - the lighted oaks are Beautiful! 3 stars - food, just ok, not the worst.1 star - wedding host.

Just booked my friend's wedding here. They were absolutely a joy. The owner and staff were so welcoming and pleasant. The grounds itself were gorgeous and the venue is stunning. The outside space is gorgeous. Their prices are a steal. Every review on Facebook says the food is AMAZING so I can't wait to judge it for myself. And I can't wait to update my review after her wedding. This place truly is a gem!

If we could give you more stars we would!!! Our daughters day played out perfectly with the outstanding help and above and beyond service of Kevin and Staff. Kevin met all our requests with a smile and professionalism that can top no other!! He's a great asset to your business and community. The best venue in the Tangipahoa Parish hands down. Amazing place for all your special events to be held. You won't regret it. Beautiful decor and set up, absolutely breathtaking.

Long review coming but totally worth the read if you want a venue that will help make wedding planning stress free!Before heading into our tour of The Oaks in March 2023, we had an idea of wanting our wedding to be at The Oaks, but after our tour, we were dead set on having our wedding at The Oaks! The biggest selling point, aside from the beautiful oaks and outdoor set up, was all of the amenities The Oaks offered. We did not have to worry about finding a catering company, a decorator, or a day of coordinator. For the few vendors we did have to find, The Oaks provided us with a list of vendors, which helped us so much! Fast forward almost a year to the food tasting at The Oaks in January 2024. We loved being able to purchase tickets for our parents to join us. All of the food was amazing and narrowing down a menu was a little hard, but that was a good "problem" to have! In March 2024, we had our 30 day out meeting to finalize our plans. At first I was a bit overwhelmed with all of the decisions needed to be made, but Hannah was very helpful. We also had put our trust into The Oaks, so I felt they would not steer us in the wrong direction. Finally, wedding day! Again, what I felt as a perk was The Oaks providing decorations. It was one less thing we had to worry about, and the decorations were beautiful! Our day of coordinator, Caleb, and his trainee, Dominique, were amazing!! They were there every step of the way and made sure our day was beyond perfect! We cannot thank Caleb and Dominique enough for all they did for us, especially Caleb helping me bustle my dress! Now the food!! Wow, the food was better than when we did the food tasting! I also loved how The Oaks set up a table upstairs for my husband and I to eat after the ceremony before being announced into the reception. We still talk about how good the red beans and rice were! Brides, if you want to make an entrance into your reception, The Oaks is the place to do it with their beautiful staircase!! The flow of our reception went great (thank you Caleb and Dominique). Our DJ, Rusty, was amazing and even threw in a surprise for us, which everyone loved! A lot of words for me to say, in my opinion, The Oaks is hands down the best wedding venue on the Northshore! If we could rate them 10 stars, we would!!

Absolutely amazing venue for the most stress free wedding! Every detail was taken care of and Caleb made sure it all ran smoothly!! 100% recommend!

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! We had our wedding at the Oaks in June and everything went perfectly! We are so grateful to Hannah for setting us up for success and meeting with us to plan everything out. Asia was incredible as our day-of coordinator and brought the perfect calming energy that I needed, she handled every special moment and kept track of time to make sure everything ran smoothly- she always came and found me while I was running around having a good time to remind me we needed to cut the cake, do the garter toss, get this picture done, etc. I am also so grateful to Mary. It looked like rain 30 minutes before the ceremony was meant to start so Mary prepared for the worst and set everything up inside before coming to discuss how I wanted to proceed. She encouraged me to do what I wanted more than anything and sat with me to watch the weather radar in suspense. She was so supportive for what looking back seemed like such a silly thing to get freaked out over but she handled me with such kindness and grace and everything worked out perfectly! The FOOD at The Oaks was absolutely incredible. I had guests telling me during the wedding and I've had guests tell me since what a fantastic job they did - we had four appetizers: the stuffed mushrooms, eggplant strips, boudin balls, and seafood au gratin bread; two sides: marinated vegetables and praline sweet potatoes; and three entrees: jambalaya, apple glazed pork, and a beef round carving station. Everything was so so delicious and I was so impressed with the Chef. I thought it was an especially cool touch that The Oaks does a food tasting for all event-planners looking to have an event there every four months! It was a great opportunity to try everything and plan exactly what we wanted. AND they set it up so that we, as the bride and groom, got to have a private dinner just the two of us before entering the reception to spend some special time together and it was one of my favorite moments of the day. The photo booth was also absolutely gorgeous, I love the mirror and the fact that there's a photo booth attendant there to help guests figure it out and get the pictures in a guest book for us. The ceremony itself was also so pretty - we chose The Oaks because we wanted to get married outside but have the reception indoors and we fell in love with the beautiful oak trees outside the second we saw them. The grand staircase inside also made me feel like a princess on the best day of my life. And we got to take gorgeous getting ready pictures in the bridal suite. Loved our experience there and loved all the staff that made our day possible!
