We only had a couple of hours unfortunately. So only got to see a fraction of the venue. What we saw was amazingly well done and informative. The movie venue was great and educational. I wish we had more time to see everything.

What can I say? World class.Huge and overwhelming - so much to see.Our first visit and we spent about 4 hours. Two hours on "Highlights" tour and then the Tom Hanks-narrated film. A tour is a must.If you had time and interest - recommend going over 2 days because your mind will get overloaded.Note - planes are just a small part of the story but they make great images...Do buy your tickets online.Cost was $150.

This is a place that's good for US history buffs who know the larger context of WWII but want more detail, particularly on the different battles and fronts. I would not particularly recommend it for kids under, say, 6th grade, as it is, predictably, a lot about how people get killed. The museum is very focused on the American battles and role in the war. I was disappointed that there wasn't more about the concentration camps, the Japanese internment camps, or the impact of the atom bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

"Only if we have time..." was the general response to whether we were gonna come through or not. Boy, were we all glad we had time to visit! This is one of the best (if not THE best) historical museums I have ever been to! I thought I knew enough about WWII but I learned way more just by going through the self guided tour. Party of four, we bought our tickets, got on the "train ride" and went off from there. Tons to learn about how it all began and how it ended on both the Asian and European fronts. They spared no expense with details. Tons of memorabilia and archives. There were plenty of pictures and films taken during the era open for display. They even had a theater showing first account experiences of those who were actually there. It's sobering and humbling at the same time. I was so immersed in the experience that I didn't realize we'd been here all afternoon - almost close to closing time! We should have come through earlier! But it's definitely a go-to for tourists! Suggest coming through as early as possible. They have a couple of eateries, so grub wouldn't be an issue. Highly HIGHLY recommending!

Been wanting to come for years and we finally got everyone on board This place is huge. It is impossible to see everything in one day. Completely impossible. So for the price, it is expensive. There is a ton of information and videos. I suppose WWII is more documented than any other war. My uncle fought in the battle of the bulge. So that piqued my interest. The exhibits are raw and sometimes tough to see. Would recommend to go through it. Just plan on not being able to get it all done in one visit.

I always add a cultura/historical experience to all of trips and Yhe National WWII Museum did not disappoint. Warning: the cause is humongous and will takeore than a day to complete. Unfortunately we did not have the time to visit everything. You do have the options to choose the exhibits you want to see. But again, it's TONS of information and a lot of ground to cover.Go off the beaten path and switch up your New Orleans usual.

The WWII Museum in New Orleans is an experience unlike any other. Typically, I don't get overwhelmed at museums, but this one consumed me for hours. The sheer depth and attention to detail in its exhibits are fabulous, and you'll find yourself completely absorbed in the stories of the war. I highly recommend setting aside at least 5 hours to all day.The layout is engaging, with exhibits like the "Road to Berlin" and "Road to Tokyo" pulling you into the heart of both conflicts. I personally found the "Road to Japan" section particularly intense. The emotional weight of the content is so well conveyed that it feels more like you're living it versus just reading it. This museum goes far beyond just facts and dates. It captures the stories, personal struggles and triumphs of those who lived through one of the most defining moments in history. You'll leave with a deep respect for the sacrifices made. Heavy but a must-visit.

As we slowly lose the Greatest Generation that brought us through WWII. this exciting tribute and memorial to their sacrifice is a must see when you visit NOLA. Spread over 7 buildings, the museum is built around hundreds of artifacts that have been preserved from those years with narration in each of the different rooms. Each area has its own focus ... either a theater of the war, a service that participated, or a particular armament that played a role. The most exciting thing was the scores of personal stories and photos highlighted in each area that brought realism to the displays. This is magnificent stuff on a subject we should never forget. This is your history ...

This was such a great experience. So much to see and learn. We were only there for a few hours but you can easily spend the day here. Highlight of the day was meeting Chick a WW2 vet B17 belly gunner who had a few stories. This is a must see if you visit NOLA. Outstanding educational experience and well ordered.
