Potential for big money.
Me and all 3 courses. I suck at these type of shows but had fun anyway. Lol

Fun times, hocky improv but if you go with a good attitude and with your extrovert-mind, you will have fun. You make friends with your table. Worth it with groupon. Food is ok.

My wife and I love Murder Mystery Dinner Theaters and have attended them in New York and Las Vegas. These comments are made with such attention to detail so as to give the Murder Mystery Company a chance to improve. They can't fix what, in our opinion, may be broken if they don't know. We purchased tickets to the event at the Boomtown Casino in Harvey, LA on Saturday, May 28th. We suggest areas for improvement that might provide a possible explanation for the poor attendance. There were only four tables in a large ballroom that seated 10 people each. Rather than seat the tables evenly as guests arrived, it seemed as though the cast/staff opted to fill the tables one at a time. Although we arrived at the requested time of 6:30 pm for the 7 pm show, our table was the last to be filled, leaving us with only one other couple to solve the mystery when the last of the expected guests did not show. A possible reason is that both couples at our table upgraded to Circle Gold tickets which included preferred seating and photos. But with only four tables, all seats were 'preferred' so that 'advantage' turned out to be a disadvantage in terms of not having other guests at our table to help solve the mystery with the correct rationale in the allotted time. Our tickets indicated that the show was from 7-10 pm but the entire night seemed purposely rushed with the event ending promptly at 9 pm. As a result, guests were given extremely little time to read binders containing three pages of information that was critical to knowing their roles and ultimately, to solving the mystery. We could have been instructed to read at the 6:30 pm requested arrival time, but the binders were not brought to the tables until about 7:15 pm. We were told to read page one and then the 10 suspects made up of cast and audience members were introduced. Lots of humor and fun throughout made this part very enjoyable. We were then told to read page two and literally, about a minute later, instructed to conduct interviews with the 10 suspects. We noticed while interviewing the suspects that our $75.00 (tips not included) dinner was being placed on the tables. So, most of us shortened, or abandoned entirely, the interviews in favor of trying to eat while the meal was still warm. We figured out on our own that we had better find time while trying to eat to read page three. Koodos to Boomtown...the Chicken Angelo was delicious and the service was great!Fast forward to the end. While trying to complete the suspect 'who' and 'why' sheet so the winning table could be announced, about three to four cast members hovered at our table, trying to help we thought, until one of them stated that ours was the only table that had not yet competed the sheet. It was only a little before 9 pm, so we thought that since the mystery setting was a high school sock hop, they were rushing to allow time for dancing, maybe. Three out of the four tables guessed the correct suspect including our table of four. The detective character acknowledged and had the audience applaud the one table that guessed completely wrong. The table that got it right with the most detailed reason for choosing the suspect was then announced and awarded a certificate. Since the only table with the wrong answer was applauded, we expected ours and the other table to at the least receive a mention also for having chosen the correct suspect, albeit with sketchy or inaccurate reasons. But everyone was thanked for the evening and it was over. That would have made sense if the table that got it wrong would have not been mentioned either. On the way out, we suggested to the detective character that in the future, all other tables could be mentioned for choosing the correct suspect and that more time should be allowed for reading so guests would not have to read, interview suspects and eat all at the same time. It seemed that the information was not well received, although the "Jill" character standing nearby stated that the information would be passed onto the director. The detective character did not respond to our comments. I will say though, the guy was enjoyable and provided a few laughs as the first murder victim and as the detective. While waiting for valets to bring our cars, we learned from other guests that they shared our view of the experience with several stating they would not attend another such event. That made us sad because mystery dinners are great fun and we are not giving up on them. We really enjoyed the food, the premise of the mystery itself, the humor, and the supplies which included the informational binder, bribe money with interview questions printed on one side, pens, and newspaper articles about some of the characters. We felt the disadvantage of not having as many people with whom to collaborate and consequently, not enough time to do what the four of us needed to for the thrill of guessing the suspect which is one of the main reasons for attending a mystery dinner.

Went to the 80's Murder Mystery show at Avery's on Tulane for a friend's birthday. Very disappointing. Bought my tickets on Groupon. Don't waste your money. Walked in, gave my name to one of the players and explained that I was there with a party, and that I had a voucher number. She was extremely rude and yelled in my face that I had to have a reservation. If I hadn't already paid $64 I would have just left. The food was meh and it was very hot inside. The actual murder mystery show seemed half-assed and hard to follow. The one girl (the same one that yelled at me about having a reservation) was very loud and obnoxious, and just all around annoying. I won't be going to another one of these, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

We are so grateful to the Murder Mystery company for donating to our organization, Plaquemines Community CARE. Their support will help us in raising funds for our organization which provides much needed behavioral health and substance abuse treatment services to the community. Can't wait to present their gift to the lucky winner!
