We entered the park by Tad Gormley. There was a high school game at the time of this event. It was easy to get through the crowd and make our way to the botanical garden. Props for the event having reserved parking. It definitely made our lives easier. We did have to wait until 8 P.M. to enter into the garden area. They literally rolled out the red carpet! Check in to this event was quick and painless. Thanks to the event for the fan! It was much needed on such a hot evening. It was really cool to see people dressed up in their French Provincial attire. The wigs were so beautifully done. Some had lights in their wigs. So very New Orleans! The Hendricks bar was amazing. I loved the set up with the vase and roses. We were also given a deck of playing cards with the Hendricks logo. It was a nice touch. I chose a gin and tonic with a blueberry and raspberry fruit garnish instead of a cucumber. My drink was refreshing! The Mason Jar restaurant offered a gumbo with grits instead of rice. I really enjoyed it. My favorite was the salmon dish. It was most flavorful and delicious. The fennel dish was my least favorite. It was extremely crunchy and not flavorful. The music was too outdated considering the crowd was supposed to be 45 and under. I would have liked a variety of music. Overall, it was a very fun night and most enjoyable.
