The Jambalaya Shoppe

Today I called this location around 7:30pm from the ONeal location that apparently closes early when they feel like it. They assured me they are open until 8pm, so I made the drive to get my husband some pastalaya. I got here at 7:50pm and was greeted with a smile. There was no concern about my placing an order so close to their closing, and three other customers walked in after me to order. This location is CLEAN with friendly customer service. Will definitely be back to this location!I ordered Pastalaya for 4 and a dozen mini crawfish pies. The food was fabulous.

Got to go fried fish with 2 sides and a little bread pudding. The fish was very crispy, the hot sauce was essential! Both the green and white beans were tasty and well seasoned. I enjoyed how soft the rolls were. Next time, I'll have to try the jambalaya! I'd give the bread pudding is also very good, extremely flavorful considering how small of a piece it is. Would get again!

The food was alright. I liked the gumbo and the sides I ordered. However, the jambalaya had little seasoning. The rice was bland. The sides are better than the main dish. The serving sizes are nice though.

Me of my favorite fall dishes is gumbo and I get it anywhere I can find it. I come to this location quite often because it is convenient The food is always hot and it's very cleaned. The customer service is left to be desired...... on this Tuesday I came in for lunch and there was a different lady taking orders than who normally takes them. After I placed my order, I noticed that there was a pool of tea on the ground. I mentioned to the young lady taking the orders that there was a pool of liquid in the ground. She rudely replied "I know I had to take orders" I said oh I am sorry I didn't see a sign or anything so I just wanted to share to prevent anything from happening. I was really taken aback because I was just trying to be helpful. As mentioned the food is good bu the service can be better!!!!

This is a small chain - one location in Texas and the rest in Louisiana. The food was fairly good but I don't know, it was missing something. I don't even know what it's missing; it just is. I had the Friday special with is fried catfish with crawfish etouffee over rice, I got red beans and Cole slaw. And it was all good but not great, maybe that's it-it's a little blandish for Cajun food. But if you want a little Cajun and not a lot of Cajun, I'd say this is the place

Came here after the ren fest in Hammond and was really hungry. The atmosphere was super low key. I love all the variety of options you can choose from. The portions are HUGE! Seriously, if you do not eat a lot you can just share a plate. I ordered the red beans and rice with boudin and a side of crawfish pie. I found the food to be decent in taste. I like my food to be extra spicy so I added hot sauce to my red beans. The color of the boudin was a little too pale for my liking but it did not taste bad. The crawfish pies were phenomenal. Everything came out fresh and hot! I would love to try the location in Lafayette soon!

This location doesn't have the buffet, but it's still nice! I had the combo #1 and I was full. I didn't finish it. The potato salad is sweet, but it's good! I didn't like the crawfish pies, but I'm glad I was able to try them. The gumbo is very meaty and delicious! The jambalaya is really good! I wish they had a spicy version.Very fast service!

The three stars is only because I like The Jambalaya Shoppe as a franchise. I have been trying so hard to like this location because it's the closest one to where I live now. However... I just don't. The food here is not as consistent as it is at other locations I've had but will not name here. Sometimes the rice is undercooked and it's crunchy. Sometimes it's way too overcooked and it's mushy. I usually get the crawfish pies, which taste really good but more often than not are served at or below room temp.I come here often and I have really tried so hard to like the food. I don't complain when my food is cold because usually I'm going somewhere where I can warm it up. Ive tried coming at different times throughout the day, but nothing changes. Today, the last string was really the cold crawfish pies. They were the coldest I've had yet and they were bricks. I ordered them on the way to another errand, so I was stuck in the streets with cold crawfish pies that I had just paid $4 for and had no way of heating up. I rarely write bad reviews, and this one is kinda just a mediocre review, but I hold The Jambalaya Shoppe near and dear to my heart. It's great food at a cheap price. I just hope that this location strives to meet and maintain that quality of jambalaya excellence.

I have eaten here before and jambalaya was good. But today, it was just awful! I truly believe they forgot to use seasoning. And the rice was mush! I don't know what happened but please fix it!
