I always enjoy the food, service, and vibe at The Davenport Lounge! It's always spot on and the people watching and bustling atmosphere is top notch. It's loungey perfection. I enjoy the truffle fries, Cajun dip, and the sliders. Honorable mention: The charcuterie boards look divine in passing although I've yet to try one. Mert is a great server, and we can't wait to return on our next trip. Cheers!

This is as good as it gets. Great drinks and service. The Daventini was original and delicious. The bartender was bragging about the best gumbo in NOLA. We took him up on it, and we agree. We had been gumbo hopping and this was clearly the winner. Just a side note - comfortable bar stools which is harder to find than you would imagine. We loved the decor of the Ritz Carlton for Christmas. We were even treated to a beignet on our way out, and who doesn't love the concept of a sparkling wine vending machine?

Absolutely adored this lounge located in the Ritz Carlton New Orleans. We were ecstatic to find that they offered an afternoon tea on weekends and immediately made a reservation. The ambiance is classy and elegant but did not feel stuffy at all. Our servers were all very friendly, and we enjoyed the harpist playing in the background. The afternoon tea itself was very reasonably priced. It came with a plate of savory sandwiches and a tower of sweets. The savory sandwiches were delicious, and we thought that the spinach artichoke and pesto ones were the best. The desserts were also delectable and not overly sweet. Since it was our anniversary, they even gave us a beautiful candle to take home! Such a great souvenir and outstanding service.

My hotel was just next to the Ritz Carlton, and I knew that they would have a cocktail bar with delicious drinks. To my great surprise, they also had nightly live jazz in their cocktail bar, from 5:30 - 9:30 pm!!!! It was amazing. I came here at least 3 times during my stay in NOLA for my conference. There are a few different bands that perform - one is Davenport band, and the other was this pianist that was earlier in the evening. Both fantastic, although I did enjoy the Davenport band more, as it was more lively. The cocktails were great quality too - although on the more expensive $20 side. I think it was worth having the band/live music there though. I loved my Sazerac the most, followed by the Bayou Hurricane. Davenportini was good, but not my favorite. Service was really great here (as you'd expect for a Ritz), very attentive. They also gave a huge bowl of chips and crackers every time we drank here too. Great seating area here too, with lots of couches and coffee tables, regular tables and chairs, and bar seating. Good for couples, and small groups too.

It is funny, I have spent over 7 nights in this hotel over 2 visits the past decade ish- and I never experienced the lounge until recently. I am kicking myself for not checking it out sooner. If you are familiar with the hotel setup at the Ritz, you need to take one of 2 elevators from the bottom floor to get you to third floor. On this floor, is the lobby, a gift shop, a courtyard, the restaurant, and the mentioned lounge. In some previous reviews of guests expressing their disdain, I did notice that the lounge does offer reservations during the weekend via opentable. However, I was there on a Wed, so it was a first come first serve. After a nice filling lunch @ Acme and an afternoon on an airboat, we decided our last night to keep the commute short to the room on our last night and check out the lounge. I usually don't snoop around the hotel (I should have though, it would make things make more sense), but from what I see, depending if you enter from the front or back of the hotel, depends on what set of elevators you take, which then depends if you enter the front or back side of the lounge. If you come through the back, you will most likely walk through the lounge to get to the lobby. Don't fret though, if you find a seat, take it! There are a lot of seats, and a nice bar with some TVs as well. However, the main event is Jeremy Davenport (of Emeril Live fame) and his band, when they are playing on the stage. When we got a table, we were lucky to get a great view, as it was starting to fill up quick (which was great, I didn't see the place too crowded when Jeremy was not playing). We were greeted by Mert, our fantastic server who guided us through everything. He gave us a bar menu, and we said we were hungry, and he also provided us a dinner menu from the neighboring M Bistro. People can say what they want (omg, you went to New Orleans just to eat at the hotel!)- the food here was solid, and had plenty of french and cajun influence. We were able to order from both menus, so we definitely did. We got some foie gras and fries to start, along with shrimp and grits and lobster carbonara for mains. The fries were solid (which sometimes can be easy to mess up) as was the foie gras. I do only wish the foie gras had more toast, however, it was fine on its own. The lobster dish was hearty, and not what I had expected, which was a good thing. It didn't look like a lot until you started eating it. A great filler. The shrimp and grits were solid as well.Mert keep trying to sell us on dessert, and we decided to share a lemon cheesecake. It was fantastic. He knew I was fat and I could have eaten more (I mean, the walk home was only 5 more floors), but I had to start a 6000 mile journey early the next morning- I had to show SOME restraint. All in all, the atmosphere, the service, and the food were all a great way to end a fun trip in New Orleans, and it was nice to be relaxed and unwind in the cool of things. I did have shorts on, and I wasn't judged, which is always nice- it didn't seem stuffy at all. Will have to go back and enjoy more of the menu!

A great place to listen to live music! we loved coming here in the evenings for a drink, food options and the music. There's plenty of seating at the bar and in the lounge to sit back and enjoy. The staff was great as well!

Swung by for some beignets, drinks, and jazz. It was an older crowd, as is expected of the Ritz. We were probably two decades younger than the average patron here. The drinks were strong and the beignets were delightful. Light, airy, and a wonderful trio of chocolate, vanilla, and caramel sauces to elevate the experience. Our favorite beignets in NOLA by far.Service was off the night we went. I've experienced exceptional service and southern hospitality everywhere we went in NOLA except for the Davenport. I was immediately put off when our waitress rudely asked us if we were staying at the hotel or to give her a card to open a tab at a dining table. There's a way to respectfully and kindly ask, and it's not with a glare. She proceeded to ignore us the rest of the set and only swung by our table once for last call.
