Last Friday night! My friend and I embarked on journeying out of our comfort zone ans found ourselves at the sleepy piano lounge of The Colonel Club. If you're looking for a sophisticated vibe as a young adult, this is a perfect introduction to what life is all about. The ambiance is soft and warm with a gentle fire roaring in the back ground ans the cherry on top? The piano which either plays stand alone or accompanied by a smooth artist singing. The perfect backdrop to your conversation. We talked for hours it seemed. A much needed change from the hustle and bustle of the 5:00pm traffic. My friend and I had the whipped ricotta topped with hot honey and truffle oil grilled bread. The portion size was decent, but a few more slices wouldn't hurt. My drink of choice for the night was the Southtown sling. Bright flavors of pineapple and strawberry with a pleasant bite from the gin. My companion had the cedardale sour. Tangy and sweet. For dessert a decadent chocolate cake, great flavor, but a little dense and cold. The icing is thick and rich. We also tried the Baklava with pistachio ice cream. Would have preferred it to be slightly warm as the dessert was hard to eat, but the flavor was nice. Take it with a grain of salt, as I enjoyed my experience and can't wait to try the full menu on the restaraunt side.

Highly recommend checking this place out whether it be for a date night or a friend's dinner! My best friend and I checked the place out for our quarterly meet up and it did not disappoint! We did book a reservation, even though we went for lunch just to be safe. They did mention that reservations were needed for the weekend. The restaurant is divided into two parts. One side is a cocktail bar that has a piano player several nights a week and a great fireplace to sit by and the other side is the restaurant. From the decor to the service, everything was completely outstanding.I highly recommend getting the brussels sprouts for a starter. Even if you were not a brussels sprout fan this place will make you become one!I got the lobster gnocchi and it definitely had a lot of lobster, but I probably would not recommend it. My friend got the steak and truffle fries, and it was completely outstanding! Our waiter was Chris and it was his first week and you would have never noticed because he was completely amazing! The parking here is a little wonky. You can park under the overpass by the supermarket across the street and just walk over.Overall, a great addition for the area and will certainly be back when I'm in town!

5/5 for the ambience and the service. The food, however, would be a 1/5. Especially for the price. Extremely over priced for the kind of food you're getting. The fried rice tasted like the frozen veggies were used. Very watery and tasted like it had been sitting around. The menu said the katsu came with a "Korean bbq sauce" but it was really just normal BBQ sauce...The half chicken was good but once again, for the price, it should've been great. Our server was very kind and attentive. The ambiance is nice and it seems pretty newly renovated. It seems they are trying to cosplay as a fancy restaurant. But the food doesn't lie

My husband and I chose this restaurant to celebrate my 40th birthday. He made an early reservation online, around 5 PM, and noted the occasion when booking. We were fortunate to find parking right out front, which started the evening off on a good note.Upon entering, the host greeted me with a cheerful "Happy Birthday!" and led us to our table in the back room. The interior was stunning, styled like a classic Victorian manor, but I had a couple of concerns about the back room: the chairs and the ambiance. The wicker chairs at our table were incredibly uncomfortable and pokey, especially since I was wearing a skirt. I eventually resorted to sitting on my napkin for some relief. Additionally, the room had a curtained-off area where the staff gathered, and we could clearly hear their conversations. While it was nice to see the staff getting along and enjoying themselves, the gym stories, singing, and weekend plans clashed with the upscale atmosphere the restaurant was aiming for.As for the menu, the options seemed a bit scattered, and I struggled to find a dish that stood out. I settled on the bolognese, while my husband ordered the short rib debris dipper. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy my bolognese, the sweetness and tanginess reminded me of sloppy Joe sauce, which I'm not a fan of. My husband's sandwich, however, was delicious, so we ended up swapping plates. One small disappointment was the lack of a complimentary dessert or acknowledgment of my birthday beyond the initial greeting. It's possible the restaurant doesn't offer that, but it would have been a thoughtful touch.Overall, the experience was just okay. While the décor and my husband's dish were highlights, the issues with the seating, staff noise, and food left us a bit underwhelmed.

What a great new and different biz in Baton Rouge! Such a great part of town, right by BLDG 5 and ticked under the overpass, The Colonel's Club is a great place for a late night drink or dessert.I came here on a Tuesday night around 7. We told the hostess that we just wanted dessert, so she pointed us to the lounge part. There are two sides of this place: restaurant and lounge. What they failed to mention was that in the lounge we had to order everything at the bar, even the dessert. So, not knowing this, we sat down at a table because it is first come first serve in the lounge. We weren't approached by a waitress after like 15 mins, so we asked the hostess for the menu and how to order. After she told us, we were all good. But, I would have liked this mentioned as we were entering the lounge. We got the crème brûlée and the monkey bread. The monkey bread was to die for! It was like a giant cinnamon roll but even better. It was extremely hot and melty and was a pretty big portion. Way bigger than I was expecting. Once I ordered everything at the bar, it came out within 5-8 minutes, so not long at all.In the lounge, the ambiance was on point! A fireplace to open couches and tables to sectioned off rooms to a live piano player... this had it all and it made me feel as if I were in a speakeasy. Very cool experience and I can't wait to come back!

Hands down, this is one of my favorite spots in Baton Rouge right now! If I'm having a girls' night out, this place is usually on my list. Whether it's my main dinner destination or just a stop for after-dinner drinks, I always end up back here in the lounge for a slice of Nanette's chocolate cake!Apps: The whipped ricotta and burrata are absolutely delicious.Soups: The lobster bisque is a different color than I'm used to, but the flavor is on point.Entree: The short rib bolognese is very flavorful. My only issue was that my portion had less meat than my friend's, so I hope they pay closer attention to portion sizes.Side: The truffle fries are tasty.Dessert: 100000% Nanette's chocolate cake! I've been ordering her cakes for years, and her dessert is always my top choice!Drinks: The Raspberry Bea's Knees is my first drink of choice, followed by the smoked espresso martini--always, ALWAYS the smoked espresso martini! Make sure they smoke it in front of you because that's how it's supposed to be presented.Atmosphere: Very speakeasy vibes. I love it because we NEED more places like this to stick around in Baton Rouge!

The Colonel's Club is the newest hot spot for food and drinks in Baton Rouge. This restaurant and lounge chose a theme and executed it very well through out the restaurant. I visited this establishment for an early dinner and was very pleased with the service. The sweet hostess gave us the history behind the restaurant which was quite interesting and features the infamous Barry Seals. We sat at the bar and bartender was very entertaining. The food and drinks were good. Overall the ambience is my favorite aspect of the restaurant.SN: if you plan on visiting for a late dinner or the lounge area, I recommend arriving early or a reservation. The lounge area fills up quick
