The Carousel Bar & Lounge is pure magic. From the moment you step inside the historic Hotel Monteleone, you're transported to a world of timeless charm, live music, and expertly crafted cocktails. The slow rotation of the bar adds an effortless cool. The staff? Absolute pros. Attentive, knowledgeable, and always ready with a stellar recommendation. The live music is the heartbeat of the space, setting the perfect mood without overpowering conversation. Now, let's talk about the real star: the espresso martini. Skip the simple syrup and ask for agave instead--it elevates the drink to another level. Smooth, balanced, and just the right touch of sweetness. Easily one of the best espresso martinis in the city.Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned local, the Carousel Bar is an experience, not just a drink. A New Orleans must.

It is so hard to get a seat at this bar. We decided to do the special reservation for 10am that includes a history of the bar and various cocktails with Marvin. The bar itself is a masterpiece. The paid reservation includes a drink and you can stay as long as you like.Marvin was very informative and it's always fun to absorb more history; especially in New Orleans.

A whimsical experience! Located inside the Hotel Monteleone in the French Quarter, this bar had a literal carousel in it. And it spins (verrrrry slowly) every 15 min. The seats fill up quick but honestly I liked sitting some where so I could look at the carousel. They offer cocktails (and mocktails) and have a great bar bites. The only vegetarian item in their bar bites menu is truffle fries so I just came for a drink and then left.Their cocktails are very Nola-prohibition themed with sazeracs, old fashioned and French 75s. I ordered the fleur de lis since "when in Rome" and it was good. Not too sweet and I could taste the gin and cucumber. The price was ridiculous though. $19 for basically a gimlet but you're paying for the ambeyonce and you're in the quarter in a city. So I get it. My server was very polite and attentive so you can't beat that!

Located in the heart of the French quarter, inside the Hotel Monteleone. It was a new experience to go to a bar that moves! Inside is completely made into a carousel. It was a busy night; all the seats were taken. We order ordered the Pimm's cup and an old fashion. The drink were decent, nothing stood out for the old fashion. It was my first time trying the Pimm's cup. It was refreshing to have strawberries and cucumbers in the drink. I think the liquid was diluted and a little too watery. I would go back again for the aesthetic.

Very eccentric bar that Is very fun and cute! It's a bar and lounge with good vibes!! The bar moves around just like a carousel which is sooo different!! It gets really packed at the bar, so we were not able to get a seat but we did get a table right to the side of it! It still was a good experience and the service was phenomenal despite how crowded it was, they still helped us out. Since I wanted to try it, I just ordered a Margarita that was very tasty and not too sweet, which I love. I had a great time and the vibe was so fun! It's located in the Hotel Monteleone and you can park there got free just give your keys to the parking attendant in front! Recommend here if you're in NOLA no doubt! -Marshay D.

The Carousel Bar & Lounge is a must-visit spot in New Orleans, located inside the historic Hotel Monteleone. Known for its iconic rotating bar, it offers a unique experience that draws both locals and visitors. No matter what time of day we came, this place was always full. While the early afternoon is a bit quieter, securing a seat at the rotating carousel can be close to impossible. If you're patient, you may get lucky--like I did--after waiting a while. I ended up making great conversation with other visitors who were also waiting for a seat, and the vibe was relaxed and friendly. What We Tried: * Cocktail: I had two Fleur de Lis cocktails, made with Hendrick's Gin, St. Germaine Liquor, lemon juice, and cucumber. It was refreshing and delicious--definitely a drink worth trying!Atmosphere:The rotating bar is the star of the show, and the elegant, vintage-inspired decor adds to the charm. The vibe is lively, and it's easy to strike up conversations with fellow patrons. It's a great place to unwind, sip on a drink, and take in the unique setting.Service:Even though the bar is busy, the service was attentive, and the bartenders were friendly and skilled at making great cocktails.Pro Tips: * Timing: The Carousel Bar can get crowded, especially in the evening. If you want to sit at the rotating bar, be prepared to wait. Arriving earlier in the afternoon gives you a better shot at securing a spot. * Be Patient: If you're waiting for a seat, the conversation with others can make the wait enjoyable.Overall Thoughts:The Carousel Bar & Lounge is a fun and memorable spot to visit in New Orleans. Even though it can be tough to get a seat at the rotating bar, the experience is worth it. Whether you're just stopping by for a drink or hanging out for a while, it's a great place to enjoy a cocktail and soak in the atmosphere of this historic bar.

Great bar, great drinks, great entertainment! Absolutely loved the vibe. I was lucky when Ed Wills Blues for Sale was performing. I got a great spot by the stage, tasty drinks and enjoyed watching people dancing to the music. The drinks are not cheap. The Planetary Old Fashioned was $18. But it's so good and so worth it! My waitress always brings me a glass of water with each drink - how thoughtful is that! It was such a great time I would recommend to anyone who loves jazz. And tip your musician!

Bar is cute but gets very crowded. Seats are on a first come first serve basis. If you want to sit at the carousel you'll just have to wait for someone to leave. Service is pretty quick once you're seated.

This place was absolutely amazing! Located inside a beautiful, classic New Orleans hotel, the bar itself is a carousel that slowly spins while you enjoy food and drinks--such a unique and fun experience. The atmosphere is lively, and the vibes are great, but what truly made it stand out was the exceptional bartender behind the bar.I also loved hearing about their sustainability practices. A special shoutout to the bartender who has taken the initiative to ensure all the glass gets properly recycled--such an inspiration! It's incredible to see meaningful change he is driving! If my travels ever bring me back to New Orleans, this spot will definitely be on my must-visit-again list!
