So. It kills me to give this place any kind of negative review.. that said. We came tonight on a Sunday. Table of 7. There was a long wait. That's fine. It was busy. So we went to the bar and had 3 drinks. All good so far. Then we get seated. Approx 1 hour wait. That's fine. As we sat, we waited 20 minutes at the table and had ZERO interaction with a waiter/waitress. Other tables came in and were greeted AND served. I didn't want to ask a waiter to take our order because, that's not our job. After 20 minutes we walked to the exit and the girl up front asked if everything was good ?? Well it would have been, if we had been served. Again. The food is excellent. The drinks are excellent. The service, the other 4/5 times we've been has been great. But tonight. I have never been treated so poorly. We walked right out and ate at a Mexican place up the road. I gave this review on Google as well. And it seems this isn't the first negative review for this place today !!

I visited The Cajun Table on Valentine's Day, looking forward to some crawfish and my favorite appetizer, Fish Out of Water. As expected, there was about a two-hour wait, but knowing that was likely the case across the city, I decided to stick it out. The restaurant provided outdoor seating with two heaters for those waiting, which was a nice touch. While waiting, I grabbed a drink at the bar--the Royalty, which included Crown Royal, sweet tea, lemonade, and another mixer. I opted to sub the sweet tea for unsweetened tea, and while I could tell it took away from the overall experience of the drink, I was watching my calories.Once my table was ready, seating was smooth, and the host provided menus. However, this is where the service took a turn. Our table was positioned near the kitchen door next to a pillar. At one point, a server was speaking to the table next to us, and I assumed she would greet us afterward. Instead, she suggested dessert options to the other table, put in their order, brought out the dessert, and still never acknowledged us. After waiting about 15 minutes with no greeting, we had to flag down another server, who assured us someone would take care of us shortly.Eventually, Gabrielle came to our table but made it seem as though she was doing us a favor. She mentioned that she volunteered to take care of us after someone told her we had been waiting. What was frustrating was that she had been standing right next to our table earlier but never once turned to acknowledge us. At this point, we were ready to order immediately. We got five pounds of crawfish with corn, potatoes, and sausage, plus the Fish Out of Water and gumbo. The food arrived extremely fast, which was great, but it still took a while for Gabrielle to check on us after we had received it. Meanwhile, she constantly checked in on the table next to us. I overheard her mentioning that her boyfriend or friends were there, and it was clear she was prioritizing them. I don't expect a server to be overly chatty, but basic attentiveness is key. Towards the end of the meal, she did stop by a bit more, but by then, I was already over it.As for the food: Fish Out of Water was delicious as usual. Crawfish seemed to be prepared quickly to meet high demand. While I don't love spicy food, I was glad we ordered the spicy crawfish, as the mild ones seemed under-seasoned. The ones at the bottom of the tray had more flavor, which helped.Despite the disappointing service, The Cajun Table remains one of my favorite restaurants in Lafayette. The food was still solid, and I know the service experience can vary. However, I hope management reinforces the importance of treating all tables with the same level of care.

Everything was delicious and had great flavor. I appreciate the seasoning. The draft beer selection lacks big time but at least they had a few good bottles. I recommend the gumbo. You can tell they know what they're doing. My shrimp wrap was so tasty! I would eat that again daily. The restrooms are clean but there is one table that sits right outside the door and unfortunately you can hear everything going on in the restaurant.

This was an ok visit mainly because what I wanted was not available. So I decided to go for gumbo and although I'm super tough on gumbo, it was just ok, I really only enjoyed the sausage. Otherwise, the service was good and the free pork skins were delicious.

VERY consistent n delicious! I love the grilled shrimp bacon wrap and it's big enough for 2! The crawfish etouffee is also enough to share! My boys like it because it comes topped with fried crawfish! They have the best sweet potato fries! The service is friendly & we enjoy the bar area for a dinner lighting!

This place has great food. I had the roux based Cajun gumbo with chicken and smoked sausage. It came with 2 slices of bread, 1 scoop of potato salad and 2 scoops of white rice. I was super happy with my meal. BUT sadly the "southern hospitality" at their 4510 Ambassador Caffery Parkway, Lafayette, LA location leaves something to be desired. I'm not a local, but I drove 15 minutes to eat here. I arrived at about 8:10pm on a Tuesday. The hostess (let's call her 04092024) offered me a seat at the counter. I was like, but there are 8 EMPTY TABLES. 04092024 frowned, and agreed to put me on "the list" which incidentally was nearly empty. Sure enough, exactly one group went in ahead of me. (They were closing in 45 minutes.) When it was my turn 04092024 walked me right past the completely cleared and ready to go 8 EMPTY TABLES with red and white checkered table clothes, and blithely parked me at a "tall table" with no table cloth near the front door in a draft across from the bar. I was like, "Really?" But I did not argue with 04092024. Nor did I get ugly. Because it's not my place to explain to Generation Z how best to manage her boss' restaurant tables. I still left a 15% tip for the waitress who was kind, but certainly hope 04092024 learns to treat other senior citizens better then she treated me.

Very nice employees. I got "dragged" here today, as I have been several times. The shrimp on my po'boy did not seem especially fresh, the breading had the consistency of sand, and the roll was disappointing when compared to other local supermarkets/bakeries/restaurants. The potato salad was a soggy, largely flavorless mess and the tomato slices on the po'boy were not yet ripened. I have had decent but not great crawfish here but I can't think of anything else I'd ever recommend.

The owner refused to refund me for cheese fries that had an eyelash in them, and the cheese sauce was separating like it was old. She was also extremely rude and unapologetic for the way we were treated. Might be the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant and I'll make sure that none of my friends, family, or coworkers ever eat here or support these rude people.
