What an incredible place to stay. Such a convenient location in the French Quarter. The building felt secure and safe. Easy to walk to loads of restaurants and shopping. From the minute you walk up to the exterior, this place oozes charm. The lady who checked us in was amazing and had some spot on recommendations for us. Check in was empty, so she helped us by pulling out a map and suggesting so many incredible finds, all within walking distance. Our room was clean, quiet, comfortable, and so well designed. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

Our room overlooked St. Louis #1 Cemetery, which was very cool. It is a vintage feeling hotel, with a great little shop, museum, coffee kiosk in the lobby. It was clean and quiet and very near the French Quarter. The staff were friendly & helpful. The main issue was the coffee shop was only open 9-3, so getting a latte for breakfast or a bottled water after getting back from dinner was near impossible.

A wonderful boutique hotel located four blocks from Bourbon Street and next to St. Louis Cemetery No. 1. Enter the hotel from the Basin St. Station. The adjacent parking lot is convenient for $20/night fee.Hubby and I were greeted upon check-in. The Basin St. Station also include a cafe, tour bookings, and a gift shop. Safety is wonderful... a key card is needed to access the lobby, the elevator, and a secondary door into the room hallway. Our king deluxe room is huge with a sitting area. We had extra amenities and housekeeping changed the linens each day. The room was clean and very comfortable.

The Brakeman Hotel is a hidden gem! Not only does it echo uniqueness, but it also holds extraordinary history. The staff is friendly, attentive and helpful. Ranisha Young, Front Office Manager, was polite, kind and courteous upon checking out. My room was clean, gorgeous and the bed was super comfy! I would definitely be staying here again.Zsadee Major

I'm so glad I found this hidden gem! My room was spacious, clean, and beautiful. It overlooked St Louis Cemetery Number 1, which was really cool. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel is within the Basin St Station, so you can catch a cemetery tour or the hop on/hop off bus if that's your thing. Everything in the Quarter is within walking distance. There's a little cafe and gift shop on site, which proved to be handy more than once. Price was very reasonable. I wish the cafe opened earlier than 9, but that would be my only (very minor) complaint. I was impressed with the added security since there are a lot of tourists coming in and out of the building. Key card required for building entry after hours, required for elevator, required for entry to your floor, and of course your room.

Phenomenal property! Very chic boutique hotel. Access for Uber and Lyft is phenomenal. Very safe in and out. Rooms are immaculately clean and the restorations kept the character of the historical building. Great location, staff, and service all the way around. In short, a jewel of a place! Super cute gift shop and ideal access to the Hop on Hop off Red Bus. A must visit while in Nola!

The Brakeman is the best kept secret in New Orleans. Such a beautifully restored gem of a hotel. The rooms are large, quiet and well maintained. Our flight was 12 hours late arriving in NO. We didn't get to the hotel until midnight. The desk clerk welcomed us and made us feel so glad to arrive at the hotel. Everyone is friendly, and helpful. Hop on Hop off bus stops right in the parking lot of the Brakeman. Easy walk to the French Quarter. Loved it.

We felt very secure and even though we paid for parking we did self park. The room was impeccably clean. Nice and quiet and just a few blocks away from the French Quarter.
