BEST BAR ON ST CHARLES!-my boyfriend started coming here almost a year ago and we love it. neighborhood feel. bartender remembers you.-we now are regulars and are friends with the regulars.-we are big dive bar fans and this place gives us everything we want and more.

10/10 would NOT recommend! My family and I were there will staying in the area . After the concert we wanted to get some drinks. We walked in and immediately felt like a fish in a fish tank. Being watched . We had someone approach us and tell us other people were interested. We politely told them we weren't interested. We finished our drinks to leave after feeling uncomfortable. Then three men followed us from the bar and harassed us down the street all the way to our hotel. If you're a female visiting, I would absolutely NOT go there at all! I felt bad for the bartender . There was NO security . And men clearly don't see women in there . Save yourself and don't go to this establishment at night.

Well, it's a cute neighborhood bar on St. Charles in the Tuoro area of New Orleans. I like the decor. The drinks are found, but way standard. Don't bother with a Sazerac or Old Fashioned (they have maraschino cherries and not Luxardo cherries lol). They have a Guinness, but no Boddington's, etc. just a safe neighborhood bar nestled between a cafe and an upscale restaurant. I had fun, the bathroom was clean, decent amount of seating and two pool tables. They also have a patio outside,

They have some crappy bartenders and they illegally installed a deck and tables out front. The place is trashed every morning. Dog almost stepped on broken bottles that a bartender clearly ignored when closing up.

*HARASSMENT ENCOUNTER* giving two stars only because our bartender was very nice & made us a great drink. HOWEVER, we are in town from out of the area and had a very unpleasant encounter while visiting this bar. Thursday 9/28/23 around 1:30am we had headed over to the bar to have a drink. Immediately we were met with a man. He stayed to talk while we were expressing that we were not interested in his advances. He offered to buy our round of drinks and we agreed. He walked back to his group of buddies who seem to be regulars at this bar. They were very comfortable and all knew each other. We headed out after having our drinks and we're immediately followed out by three men who were from the same friend group. They started to yell sexual statements at us, taunting us, while following closely behind. We were walking quickly and they were keeping up with our pace, slowly gaining. It was a very terrifying encounter as there were only girls in our group. They were yelling this like "bend over, let me see it from behind" "bend over" this and that. I'm writing this review just in case any other groups decide to visit this bar at night time especially if it's a group of girls. Please be safe. This could've been a lot worse if we didn't remove ourselves quickly.

Beaded Oak is a friendly neighborhood bar on St Charles, right at the streetcar stop. It has a new owner who has done a great job of lightning the atmosphere. I've been going for years and love the new look. It's still friendly and local. Drinks are reasonable and staff is friendly. You'll probably meet locals and hear stories or if local, new friends. It has a 'feel good atmosphere' of locals and good drinks.

Awesome at home feeling bar away from home. They will take care of you and do you no wrong. Go there to get away from the tourist trap and hang with the real people.

Cool little spot! I am super picky about a Hurricane and this guy has it RIGHT! Also didn't judge my touristy drunk choice like the snooty bars on Magazine! Also try the drink called "De-railed". Super bad ass! Go!

My only regret about the Beaded Oak is that I didn't find out about it until my last night in New Orleans. A very clean bar with great atmosphere. Billy the bartender/co-owner was really great. I will definitely come back here on my next trip!

This place needs to be cleaned. Dust everywhere and dirty floors and this was around 3pm. They were out of a lot of basic things for drinks.
