Taste of Tokyo

We walked in not knowing what to expect since we're picky sushi eaters and from out of town. We were pleasantly surprised! The service was excellent and since they knew it was our first time, one of the women came up to us to welcome us and go over the menu and let us know that they can make anything. The standouts will be for sure their vegetable tempura (the batter they use is pretty yummy), the filet mignon roll, the salmon belly nigiri and the mackerel nigiri. Everything was pretty well made, but these listed stood out as phenomenal. It's a pretty casual restaurant and it seems like they have regulars which was nice to overhear their conversations.

Very good flavor and helpful staff. The place overall is cool and spunky with TVs.Came here once with my son. Def will come again.

Very good sushi in Louisiana. Everything came out fresh and the wait staff was always at the ready. Even though the venue is a decent size the atmosphere was very cozy. The menu has a choice for everyone even sushi rookies.

We came at a great time, after the much rush I presume. Plus the weather was significantly cold so perhaps that kept people inside. We had two rolls and two appetizers. The food was really good, and came out really fast. The staff were very helpful in helping us decide on sushi and appetizer options s since there was plenty to choose from. The service was good and food was reasonably priced. I'm sure we'll be back.

!! Note: This review is in the eyes and nose and tastebuds of the reviewer , who is allergic to seafood. The restaurant has very nice decor. Seafood loving people looked super happy! I went to lunch with a group. # the chicken is not good in flavor very very bland and tough -not edible # the restaurant smells very strong seafood .. overwhelming actually # I could not enjoy because of my allergy # I won't go back The rest of my group was super super happy with their seafood dishes. The service was very good and pleasant. I am just writing to warn people who are sensitive to seafood -go somewhere else .

I have never been disappointed. I visit often and order plenty. Not only is the sushi fresh and delicious but the staff is just as pleasant. It shows when the owners care. My favorites are the Spicy mangoUnder the seaMetairie Garlic rollSpicy girlTo say the least.

Great service, good sushi, and generally a pretty quiet atmosphere on a weekday night. Haven't been on the weekend or on a busy day

I am glad this place is opened and with uchi sushi own, this place is only Japanese restaurant in town. Weekend lunch menu wasn't bad and follow others in variety. Sushi and nigiri items didn't seem bad either (sorry, I forgot to take pictures). It's not bad overall.

I've been coming here since I was a kid! Food never disappoints and Mrs jasmine always treats us like family

The food was alright and stuff but we did not get our complimentary soup. I know I sound ungrateful but the soup is what i always look forward to whenever i eat here. They are also very short staffed as there was only one singular waitress. I am also worried about the sushi chefs not wearing any masks to prevent getting any bacteria on the food. Also, as we were about to leave, we saw the caucasian customers receive their complementary soup when did not.
