Taqueria Corona

This was my favorite Mexican place uptown...until last night. My family and I were shocked to see our meals one by one heated up in the MICROWAVE. The meals were then seen being warmed up on a griddle. I got up twice to ask for extra things because we had a spill and I wiped it up myself with the 2 napkins I was given. Overall, very disappointed in our experience. Will no longer be willing to go there because I can microwave my food at home myself for cheaper.

Congratulations! This place was the absolute worst Mexican food we have ever had... You can always tell a lot first by the chips and salsa that you have to pay for and the chips are from a bag and the salsa is flavorless pico. The tortillas are not handmade, the rice and beans are terrible, the queso "sauce" is from a can, and we asked for a spicier salsa, which was also from a can, so they suggested their homemade hot sauce, which was a funky science experiment at best, and the tacos burrito, etc. were absolute garbage, passionless waste of calories. Have some shame in what you're serving and charging, we were starving so we ate the best we could and tried to give it a chance but for three people our bill was over $105 which is criminal.The icing on the cake was my friend got violently ill shortly after, and was coming and going out of both ends, Taco Bell is fine dining compared to this place.

Taqueria Corona has been around for at least 25 years and is such a local favorite. They are a bit under the radar, as hipster and trendy Mexican places like Juan's and Val's get a lot of attention. But Taqueria Corona consistently puts out delicious food at an amazing value. Grab a window seat and you can people watch on Magazine Street. You can't go wrong with any of the menu items. Service is always cheerful and attentive. Love this place!!

Roberto owns and operates the best Taqueria in the city, I've been dining here for 30 years! Try it!

A new awning and a fresh paint job dresses up this 30+ year old "Mexican" neighborhood restaurant. This "old stand by" remains an excellent choice for "fresh mex" in what is now a crowded field of "Mexican" choices that have opened uptown in the last decade. A wide selection of tacos is on the menu, my favorites, carne asada and sautéed shrimp. The entrees are equally good with carne asada, shrimp flautas , or enchilada riviera as personal favorites. Margaritas are delicious made from quality tequila and fresh juices, lacking the pretentiousness/high price of so called artisanal tequila/mezcals found in some other newer dining choices. Staff is courteous and efficient, line cooks are visible to dining patrons, and the owner is usually in supervisory attendance making sure everyone has an excellent meal.

I love the place so so so much the food is great. The price isnt great but the service is exceptional. Ambiance is good too.

SERVICE WAS AWFUL. They came to the table maybe once. They threw the check on the table without it being split like we needed. I've waited for over 40 minutes for them to come to the table and they never did. I had to go to the front desk to finally get my check paid. Very disappointed!

If i could do 0 starts i would. food was terrible. the cheese enchiladas were microwaved and swimming in grease. rice and beans were gross, the beans were flat and had a film on top i could run my finger on top and nothing would come off. service was terrible as well our waiter never checked on us he was instead at the counter on his phone the whole time. the only thing that was good was the water

Good food. good, friendly, attentive and quick service. great environment. Lots of fun.easily accessed on Magazine between Nashville and State. A nice break from downtown.
