I've been coming here since 1995 (I think that's the right date), and it is by far the best Vietnamese food place. Their Pho is unbeatable, and I have never found a place to match them. They are also known for their chicken wings, so try the lemongrass wings; you can thank me later. I'm a sucker for their egg rolls aka Crack Rolls cuz I swear you'll be dreaming about them in your sleep.Go to TD's and give them a try. I guarantee you will come back often.

The man thing I can say about Tan Dinh is that the lemon grass wings and Thai iced teas are AMAZING. That is the only thing my husband and I get when we go. It's so good there is no reason to get anything else. The wing portions are huge and the flavor is the best we have had. We briefly left the city for a while and mentioned these wings often. A MUST TRY for anyone in New Orleans. Totally worth the drive over the bridge..... even in traffic.

Very tasty and authentic offering of Vietnamese food. The portions are nice and every dish is fresh. I really like the uniqueness of their egg rolls. They also serve one of my favorite dishes, duck. Their crispy wings are outstanding as well.

I ordered the shrimp spring rolls and a rare beef pho . Both were exceptional.. outstanding. The peanut sauce with the spring rolls was very tasty. Excellent service. Great tasting broth, plenty of veggies. Reasonably priced. What's not to love? Can't wait to come back and try more items on the menu.

10/10 no notes! My niece and I were visiting New Orleans and knew we had to make a trip to Gretna for some Viet spots that we had bookmarked! We basically went on a food tour for this trip, so we only ordered the wings from here (even though we were hella tempted to order much more things from Tan Dinh!)The original plan was to try the nuoc mam wings, but after much deliberation with each other and input from one of the girls that worked here - we got the lemongrass wings as well.BOTH WERE FIRE.I enjoyed the nuoc mam ones more, but my niece liked the lemongrass more as they were a bit crunchier. All in all, a definite spot to try if you find yourself wanting something 'different' but still the realm of delicious food, then look no further and come to Tan Dinh for some amazing Viet food!

Bánh hỏi is okay. They don't have the classic bánh hỏi with crispy roasted pork so I do egg roll instead. Egg roll is crispy, but I think the skin is too thick. The nem summer roll is pretty good. Each roll is huge. Pho is my least favorite. The broth is bland and has a weird taste. But the noodle is well cooked, meat is standard

I went to tan dinh and they took the best things off the menu. No duck, no ribs. Sad!

I haven't been to Tan Dinh in a while, so I decided to dine in when I had some free time. I really liked the seat-yourself service. I ordered the sweet jasmine tea, and I was a little worried that it might be too sweet, but the server told me they add lime to it to cut the sugar. It turned out to be very refreshing. I also ordered the lemongrass spring rolls, which had an insane amount of chicken and flavor. They tasted really good. I decided to try something new from the menu and ordered the salt and pepper shrimp with lemongrass sauce. The huge, juicy shrimp were topped with amazing seasoning, pickled veggies, and served with steamed rice. It was simply AMAZING!

Hate to do this but feel I have to. This has nothing to do with the food here this is all about the worst service I have ever encountered at any restaurant ever. I walked in with my wife and 2 year old daughter 45 minutes before the posted closing time on the door. There was a lundi gras event going on in downtown Gretna so there were lots of people out and about so it wasn't a typical dead Monday night, 70% to 80% of the tables were occupied with patrons in various stages of their meals. First off we were left at the hostess stand waiting for a table for about 10 min before anyone bothered to come up and seat us, after several cold stares from the wait staff someone finally came up and seated us. I requested a high chair from the hostess and was ignored. I got up and asked a second person for a high chair and was told we will find one for you. After another 10 min delay someone finally came out and asked if we wanted something to drink and if we knew what we wanted to eat. Being since now it's about 20 min before the posted closing time we quickly ordered our food and drinks as well as kids plate for my daughter. The drinks came out in about 5 min. The kids plate showed up another 5 min later quickly followed by our food. I asked for a high chair yet again and this time a broken one was promptly produced and by produced I mean coldly dropped off in-front the table. We quickly ate our food and got the heck out. Before we left we asked for a go box for the baby's food and in-line with everything else for the evening we were ignored by our server and had to ask someone at the bar. Never have I felt more unwelcomed in a restaurant than this time. I understand coming to a restaurant 45 min prior to close probably caused this but ... if you don't want to seat people say that then. I guess leaving us on Ice for 10 min in the lobby and the cold stares from the staff was this restaurants way of doing so but that's pathetic. It would have taken less than 10 seconds to simply tell us you were closing early but instead you seated us and treated us like garbage. It's ashamed because the food here is good but I am never going to set foot in this establishment again. Worse yet, I am sure this establishment doesn't care. I will spend my money in places that are more welcoming.
