Why would you eat redfish anywhere else?? Don't. The redfish dish here is so perfectly prepared that it makes me annoyed with myself when I order it anywhere else.Beyond the food, this lovely restaurant located inside Renaissance Baton Rouge has lovely bartending staff with a shoutout to Shawna and Damon who will make you feel appreciated and right at home.

I've been here twice & the experience was better each time. It's inside the elegant Renaissance House but has its own ambiance. We had a book club meeting outside with a charcuterie board & drinks. it was a good time. the second was a late lunch & we sat outside, around the fountain area where the fire pits were lit & was so relaxing as the sun went down. I had the bacon & duck confit. Very tender a nice presentation.

So great hotel restaurant for sure! From service, drinks, food quality and price it's all a great deal! Service from Kirsten was absolutely fantastic and she made great recommendations for food, was very social and checked in plenty! The scallops with this corn/pork reaux was excellent! Charred oysters were good not great. The drinks were good and prices were fair! Definitely would eat here again based on my first experience!!

This little hotel restaurant gives all the vibe and ambience you need. If you're staying at the Hotel renaissance or not. I had the lollipop lamb chops that was season to perfection. I don't usually eat lamb chops. I was quite surprised on the taste. They were not overcooked or undercooked and season with salt and pepper. I said at the bar and the service was great.

We had a party of five reservation. We were greeted by our server very promptly. She took our drink orders and came back to take our food orders. About 10 minutes after our drinks come out. Everything is fine with the drinks. 10 minutes pass, 20 minutes pass, and after 30 minutes pass we asked the waitress about the two appetizers that we ordered, she said they'll be coming out shortly. The place was empty besides two other tables, so we just couldn't wrap our heads around why appetizers would take over 30 minutes. After 35 minutes, the appetizers came out. Mine were absolutely delicious. The char broiled oysters were fantastic! You've really got to try them. I definitely 10 out of 10 recommend. The truffle chips are also delicious. I would ask for extra sauce on the chips or on the side. Another 30 minutes pass so we ask where our entrées are she said they will be out shortly, 10 more minutes pass then they come out. My food was only lukewarm but downright delicious. The scallops were cooked to perfection and the risotto was creamy and packed with flavor. The crawfish in that risotto were huge and plentiful. The service was painfully slow, so much that it almost made us late for our other reservation. The food however was fantastic! I'd say give yourself 3 hours for dinner and enjoy. This place is crazy good. I lived in Louisiana for over 15 years and am back staying at the Ren for business. This place is off the hook. The scallops are some of the best I've ever had. Only in. Louisiana can you get an amazing meal at a hotel restaurant. This place is 5 stars all day. I started with some huge oysters raw on theHalf shell and ended with the scallops. Wow is all I can say! Go here if you stay here and go here if you are local, you will be blown away!!!

Food was great. They even had a performer playing music while u eat. It took a long while to get our food but it was worth the wait.

If I could give this place a 3.5 I would. The vibes are there and the food is good BUT they are sooooo slow Went for a friends bday. It was for 7:15. We didn't get food until like almost 9 I had the stuffed crab appetizer while it's good it feels like a scam because you get a very small scoop of dressing in a blue crab. If the blue crab would have been boiled or grilled with seasoning it would be better but it's a plain clean blue crab with a dab of crab dressing not worth the price or they can do without the crab and just do a crab cake For dinner I had red fish with stewed corn over asparagus. Flavor definitely there I topped with crab meat not enough for the cost and it was just plain crab meat no seasoning or anything and the red fish was super small This place has potential I mean if I were invited for an event I'd go but I wouldn't just choose to go there

The gumbo is the thickest I've ever seen but was tasty.. The Marriott burger was great.... The service was horrible. Literally left me alone with no follow up service...after I ate waited 20 min to pay, had to go find someone and still waited another 10 mins... not good
