Sweet Thangs by NOLASIPS

Super creative snowball and ice cream creations being made in a cozy spot in the 7th ward--Sweet Thangs promises a unique and exciting experience for anyone with a sweet tooth. We ordered the Strawberry Cheesecake Banana Pudding combo and it was hugeee! Lots of crushed cookies, juicy strawberries, frozen bananas, strawberry syrup, and vanilla ice cream topped with a giant cheesecake for good measure. The syrup was a bit too chemical tasting for my liking but my fiancé really enjoyed it so that may just be my palate being strange. The cheesecake was surprisingly my favorite part of the entire experience--thick and creamy with just the right amount of sugar. I will definitely return to order a few simple items like the pralines, cheesecakes, or assorted pastries that they also sell. The lady making our dessert was quiet but friendly as she took extra care preparing our dessert right before our very eyes.Overall, I would give this place a 9/10 and I recommend it to anyone looking for both an instagrammable and delicious treat!

We visited the N Claiborne location on a rainy day so we were the only customers. This worked in our favor so we could easily get in and get out. We loved our snowballs and the portion size was worth the price. We actually still have a lot left and put it in the freezer. I ordered the Gentilly Cake and my gf ordered the strawberry cheesecake. Both came with an abundance of toppings and syrup. The only complaints I have are: the space is extremely small so only about 4-5 customers can fit indoor at a time and then my other concern was the amount of gnats. I think the space could use a good deep cleaning bc the display case for desserts and countertops were not clean. The floor was also sticky. The owner was very sweet and had a kind temperament.

I have a soft spot for underdogs, and this charming place is still holding on. When we arrived near closing time, they had run out of the popular local cups, but they made up for it by giving us extra treats. The ice cream was incredibly creamy and had a delightful flavor! The outdoor seating area is quite lovely, especially the porch. They share a patio with another business, which adds to the atmosphere. As someone who values cleanliness, I noticed that it wasn't in the best condition, whether it was closing time or not. Remember, first impressions matter a lot. This is an area that definitely needs improvement!

Love the concept the uniqueness that it brings to the snow ball screen in Nola. The snow it self was good the ice decent and the flavor was on great. They make it right in front of you. The service was good, no line when we went. But the New shop on Caliborne is small with outside seating.

Omg this is the cutest Sno-Ball stand ever ! The lady at the window was so friendly, helpful and sweet to us. The prices are fairly reasonable and you get a lot for your buck. I got the Strawberry Cheesecake and my eating buddy for the strawberry shortcake with a cheesecake slice instead of the slice of cake. The condensed milk and sweet strawberry slices were a delicious touch to this cold and tasty treat. I will be returning to try out the other flavors and the loaded nachos !

My experience here was ... disappointing to say the least. Upon arrival, we were second in line to a family of 4 and waited about 10 minutes for 1 lady to dress all 4 snowballs while the other young lady stood and watched. Gnats flying around & I paid $30 for a "designer" snowball& some crawfish nachos. The snowball was topped with a freezer section cheesecake and a sprinkle of pecan candy on top. The nachos were.. subpar, given that I paid an extra .75 for peppers. Sadly there was no other food options available. They just were simply not my cup of tea.

I can't number the times I'd tried to get here & THANKS BE TO GOD, FINALLY I MADE IT!!! It was a hot day, since I was finally in the area at the time they opened, I stopped in for a refreshing snoball and I actually got more than I bargained for!!! Helloooooooooo, I got a DESIGNER SNOBALL, that was way too pretty to eat and actually took me 2 days to finish.To save time, I perused the menu before walking up to the window to order, but that was for naught, because once there, I CHANGED MY MIND. The combinations were all so appealing as described on the menu, until I felt like ordering ONE OF EACH concoction!!! I settled on the Kaleidoscope, I loved the colors and it seemed to be inspired by another well known female entrepreneur in the greater NOLA area; so I figured it was a WIN-WIN all around... support this establishment and support the other local entrepreneur. This was a fantastic choice, the snoball was flavorful, refreshing and had lots of candy laced throughout; this brought me JOY-JOY!!!The pricing was that of a designer snoball, but as I stated, I ate off this snoball for TWO WHOLE DAYS!!! I will tell folks to be patient as these aren't your average, run of the mill, one flavored snoball... these snoballs are crafted as designed on the picture and time needs to be given to make it perfectly as listed. From the time I placed my order until it was in my hand, the elapsed time was about 10 minutes. At the time I visited, there were a couple other vendors on the lot selling their wares and food items. This was a plus because one of the vendors were a pair of Vegan cooks. I was sorry I didn't know this prior to beginning to eat my snoball; but this just means I will have to return to eat some vegan food and top off my visit with my designer snoball for dessert. Pffft Willy Wonka has nothing on Sweet Thangs.Now lemme tell y'all--when I went to Sweet Thangs, I had every intentions of sharing my order with my friend after my visit. Welp, the lie detector test came back and that was a lie. I hogged the whole order and selfishly didn't care one bit.How does one enjoy two designer snoballs and an order of their crawfish nachos? You interchange between sips and bites of the snoballs and take a break with a nacho chip. 2 Snoballs, 1 Nacho. I'll be honest, I had always passed by Sweet Thangs and figured it was a mini food truck lot but I was wrong. The whole lot is Sweet Thangs! It not only houses their food truck for mobile parties and such; however, it's an outdoor area with seating (socially distanced) to enjoy your snoball and snacks when weather permits. *They are totally open rain or shine!*I went for the Strawberry Cheesecake Designer Snoball, Tamarindo Snoball, and the Crawfish Nachos.HOLY SH&% y'all it was love at first bite.The Strawberry Cheesecake snoball was about $8 and included fresh strawberries, topped with condensed milk, and had a whole damn slice of cheesecake. It seriously was a 2 for 1 dessert in my eyes. Every bite was a dream and my eyes lit up with my very first bite.The Tamarindo Snoball is the perfect blend of sweet n' spicy. Topped with chamoy, tamarindo stick and Mexican candies. This mango-based snoball flavor was utter perfection. TOTALLY RECOMMEND.Now for the nachos, the crawfish topped nachos were BOMB. The right amount of cheese (they don't skimp out) and a heavy serving of crawfish. These were worth it.Keep in mind though that these creations are made from scratch so expect to wait about 10/15 minutes. If you go in with that mindset you'll be totally happy. Trust me these snoballs are like meant for the Vegas strip. THEY ARE INSANE. They photograph so so well though and perfect for the 'gram.Can't wait to go back!

Nice snowball stand with outdoor area to enjoy your snacks. This shop serves snowballs and snacks. I tried the nachos and the strawberry cheesecake snowball. I wanted to try a designer snowball but the one I wanted wasn't available at the time. Everything I had was great. It was nice to have an order area to sit and eat my snacks although there were lots of flies around us. I want to go back to try a designer snowball.

What better way to cool down than take yourself to Sweet Thangs in NOLA. Their Ice Cones are bombdiggidy and the prices are cheap! Come by and show your local support if you're in town!
