Strolling through the French Quarter one last time before I depart back home, voila! My painting; or, shall I say mine until purchased LOL. My contact at the Gallery is Tommy. What a pleasure. He's professional, attentive and very informative as to the art and its artist. You're thinking of course he is when you're about to make a purchase, right? Well, my purchase was over the phone when I returned home. For me this says a lot, because he trusted I am a sincere buyer in placing a nice monetary hold on piece. Not many art galleries allow this. Nor do they without a credit check. We feel we made a nice professional relationship with Tommy and Sutton Galleries. We are definitely keeping abreast of up and coming European artists. Sutton Galleries is highly recommended. Enter and let your eyes, heart and mind wander; and, then make your decision. I made mine looking through the window and was intrigued by more.

My daughter and I were in New Orleans recently. Sutton Galleries is wonderful. We enjoyed the great selection of art. Lots of variety and beautiful and interesting pieces. The director showed us around and answered our questions about different pieces. He even looked on my cell phone at some of my daughter's art. He just made our day. Definitely, go to this gallery.

Over the holidays, I strolled into this gallery. It was completely empty with no staff manning the desk. A couple minutes after I arrived an old man walked through the front door and said "I hope you can afford to buy that." It turns out that this charming guy was the gallery staff. I turned my attention away from an Isabelle Dupuy to an artist who I had never seen before - Jay Maggio. Maggio's work really appealed to me, so I asked the less than friendly old man, "where is the artist from?" The gallery staff replied "that is proprietary information that we only reveal after the sale." Well, it turns out you can also learn a lot about Jay Maggio on the Sutton Galleries own website... not so proprietary. This ignorant fogey cost Jay Maggio and himself a commission check that day. I loved the art curated by the gallery, but I would not buy anything from this old man!

Another solid gallery on Royal Street. Lots of great pieces in here. The stacking oil in certain paintings, like the photo given, really creates depth. I realize galleries change out all the time, but this was my experience. Some redundancies, but still wonderful. And that's some artists. They just have a staple.

Out of all the galleries I visited, this one was my favorite! I don't want to give too much away as that would defeat the purpose, but definitely walk into this one as you're making your way through Royal Street.

Some stunning art...the staff was a bit stand off-ish, as I asked the price of a particularly beautiful piece...turns out it was $28,000 dollars (out of my price range btw) ...but some colorful, gorgeous art to be seen.

My friend and I strolled into this gallery on our recent girls trip to New Orleans. The two gentlemen in the gallery were super nice and insightful! The guy who's family owned the gallery was really interesting to talk to and indulged us with stories about his favorite pieces and information about the artists. Lovely atmosphere and an overall great experience talking to some nice guys!
