Best sushi rolls and the most authentic Japanese food in the area. Service is always great. I think the rainbow roll is my favorite.

Went to eat here on Friday w three friends. We got there at 5:30, and the waitress told us the sushi bar was a "few minutes behind due to to-go orders" and we thought nothing of it. Fast forward an entire hour and we still didn't get our food. A family came in w a young boy next to us 40 minutes after we arrived and they got their sushi 10 minutes after. It was ridiculous??? Once we got our food about an hour and 10 minutes after ordering, we ate all our rolls and we're STILL hungry. Please prioritize the people dining in :( it sucked waiting so long for sushi, this is supposed to be one of the best places in br.

Sushi Yama is a great choice for sushi lovers in Baton Rouge! While the prices are slightly higher than other nearby restaurants, the quality is absolutely stellar. Note that you also receive a delicious cucumber salad before your meal and pieces of pineapple when you receive your bill. If you have a chance to sit at the sushi bar, you'll be amazed to see how quickly the sushi chefs work while you wait for them to work on your order.The service here was fantastic as well. As a party of two, we were in and out in slightly less than an hour (enjoyed an appetizer and shared a few rolls). The inside doesn't look like much, but it's simplistic and clean - very on point to what you would find in Japan. Don't let that fool you!Note that they don't take reservations, but you can always call to see how long of a wait there is!

You have to try the george roll!! SO delicious if you like spicy tuna. Service was great. Definitely a place you could go for lunch or for dinner.

The sushi was SUPER fresh! Great quality. Definitely on the extra pricy side.. three rolls was $80+ with no drink in that price. Worth it for my first visit to Baton Rouge tho. Server was very friendly, sushi felt like it took a while to get but it was a pretty busy night and we weren't in a rush. I liked that they gave you pineapple with your bill!

Great place with delicious sushi. As others have noted, there's a free little cucumber vinegar salad to start and pineapple triangles at the end. Service was very nice. Ample parking. I ordered a tuna appetizer as my entree and will say I expected more for $34. Overall I would return and order rolls instead.

I took my wife here for her birthday. We had an wonderful experience. The sushi is top shelf. Fresh, clean flavors. Ginger house salad is a must. We opted for 3 low carb options (rolls), and a Philadelphia Roll. They hit the spot. The atmosphere is clean and comfortable. Our waitress was on her game. If you're in the area, or not, I recommend a trip here. It's not fancy. It doesn't have to be. The sushi speaks for itself (not literally ).

Simply the freshest and best in the entire region. Lean mean and not to far between!

It was a last minute decision to stop here. Definitely will be back!! Serves and food were top notch!
