Avoid this dump. It's now called Ferret Stop, got a new paint job on the front and appears to be new ownership.Place had a facelift recently - see pic.I bought some ice cream and counter boy who was on his celly and did not even acknowledge me or my girlfriend. We stood there for a good 10-seconds until the other staff (who was better) helped us.This review is for counter boy's exceptionally sucky customer service. With the new Rouses going up this place will go under, its only a matter of time.

Solid bodega for last minute needs. They've recently undergone some renovations and changing up the layout. You can grab liquor, beer, snacks, and there's quite a bit of Hispanic/Latin food products (which I love).Prices are very fair and there's a $5 minimum spend for cards.

How many times have I passed here and not stopped in? Well this wasn't the case on this visit. I stopped in for a soda, I know bad girl, but I got wayyyyyyy more. They have my Hard To Find VIOLETS!!!!! Lots of little knick-knacks; but seems that you can get other non-snack food items.Love the flair of Latin Music that pipes in overhead, I kinda didn't wanna leave. I wanted to explore the store like a tourist, especially since the music was very soothing and inviting. I found the cashier to be friendly & willing to assist. I found pricing to be very reasonable. I WILL BE RETURNING VERRRRRRRRYYYYY SOON!!!!

Decent mom & pop grocery store on the Freret corridor. Great selection for produce, especially items more prevalent in Latino foods. For example, they sell plantains at a decent price, as well as other foods & products that are somewhat harder to find / sometimes not available in the "ethnic" sections of major grocery stores. It's a good little business to have - support local business!

Horrible service. They sell expired products. And when confronted about the issue instead of resolving it they "banned" me from the store a store that I've been coming in for 24 years. Mind you the store is under new management so it's now called "freret street stop"

A real bodega in New Orleans?! Pinch me! I never thought I'd be nostalgic for these places, as I had to rely on them for years and I'd bitch about them endlessly. The lack of healthy options, lack of produce, rodents running around, stuff on the shelves being grimy and out of date, etc. Fun fact: many of the bodegas in Brooklyn and the Bronx operate little social clubs in the basement and back rooms. Oh yes, I'd stumble into these little gambling/drinking soirees by accident. Rarely was I invited to stay. The good news is, Las Acasias is clean, friendly and has a fuckton of latin specialty foods that you're not going to find in just any convenience store. It's not a supermarket. It's not a 24-hour Korean deli (why can't these be in every major US city?) It's a g-damn bodega!A note on the customer service: it's outstanding here. My friend and I were buying a bunch of 10lb bags of ice and two guys that worked there immediately came over and took them to our car for us. The lady behind the register was also extremely nice.I'm sure you're wondering about the social club aspect. I'll report back when find out! They're so nice here, maybe they'd invite me to join them?

When I lived in the Freret street area I used to stop in this place all the time.Besides mimicking a convenience store they also had some stuff that you would typically find a grocery store. A lot of spanish junk food and other items in the store. I never bought any grocery items though usually just beer and soda given the fact I never cook.I think the one thing I liked about this place was the very friendly lady that worked behind the counter. She is always very sweet and kind to customers. In short a good place to pick up junk food if you live in the Freret street area.

Went because we need some queso duro witch they had. The basics but enough to get by. Great drink selections.

When compared to every other market or grocery store I've ever been to, this place would probably get about two stars. However, since this neighborhood seems to be one of those "food deserts" I've read so much about in the Washington Post, it gets four stars for being one of the few places to pick up (very) basic groceries. We stopped by a couple of times during a four-day stay, and it was fine, and service was friendly.

This is now under new ownership and called Freret Stop. They have a larger wine and alcohol selection but did away with most fresh produce. It doesn't have the cool bodega vibe of Las Acacias, and I stopped going because the people behind the counter don't always wear masks.
