Looking for delicious steaks and the best ambiance in Lakeview?! You just give them a try. The food, service and location are great - one of fav local, neighborhood spots. You actually have 3 sections to dine - main dining room, bar dining area (my fav, walk in and grab a seat) and the actual bar! So cute and quant. I always order the same thing the the food is so consistent. I can only speak to the bar service, as my husband and I popped in for cocktails recently, but I can speak loudly.Do yourself a favor and have a frozen Brandy Alexander!! It's without a doubt one of my favorite specialty cocktails in the entire city. "What's the atmosphere like?", you ask. We'll it's casual, friendly and laid back. The service is wonderful and the crowd is a happy one.A big plus - some guy walked in and asked for a Stoli martini. Nope - no Stoli my good man. Thank you Steak Knife for showing your support for the Ukrainian folks.Stop in and have a drink at the Steak Knife when you get a chance.

My husband and I have been several times. I always read the entire menu and order the filet, it is too good to pass up. My husband had the veal and liked it fine but kept eyeing my steak so tonight we will probably have the steak. Not happy the piano will be silent but can't win them all.

Wow!! Wow. The blessing my pallet received when trying Steak Knife for the first time!! I love this restaurant. It's typically a locals dining bar hangout in a classy setting and phenomenal food. We went on a Saturday night and sat at the end of the bar. Everyone knew everyone. It was very welcoming and nice to see the bar chatter. Our server was happy to offer their suggestions which we took. We started out with the onion rings to share as that's typically an appetizer dish in Nola steakhouses. Followed by the filet, potatoes au gratin and creamed spinach. Top tier creamed spinach - it's a must. A friend had French fries with his steak and I highly recommend French fries dipped in the creamed spinach (lol). It's unreal! Everything was fantastic I can't wait to return. I recommend all martinis. We each tried a few but the Appletini and dessert martini was our favorites. The dessert martini had a unique name but it was essentially a spiked chocolate vanilla milkshake. Highly recommend finishing your evening off with one.

We stopped in late night for drinks and a snack. Bartender is awesome and makes one of the best Brandy Alexander's!! We had a driver for the evening so we had a second and a lovely dessert - love the service, friendly atmosphere, and general feel of the restaurant. We will definitely go back for full dinner! Menu appears extensive and interesting. Kind of a vintage warm and cozy feel!

I have never experienced a ruder owner than I did at The Steak Knife Restaurant tonight. I do NOT recommend going especially with bigger parties. We went with a group of us for a friend's birthday and haven't seen each other in a while. We were towards the end of our dinner and the owner walked over and in the RUDEST tone ever said "yall are being too loud." And we asked if he was joking or being serious because there's no way that this guy was coming over and saying that to us SO RUDELY without it being a joke. We were laughing and having a great time, but we were not overly loud.... And if we were being overly loud, there is a nicer way of asking us to please lower our voices. He ruined the mood and I will NEVER come back again. I am appalled by the way this man spoke to us. I will say our waiter was excellent and it wasn't his fault. I feel bad for him having to work for someone like that. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

Always a great experience. The food is consistently great, service is excellent, love to sit in bar too. We love Steak Knife

Everything here is a 11/10. I definitely recommend the fish robert paired with their famous old fashion. Will definitely recommend family and friends in the future.

Can't believe I waited so long to try this place right in my neighborhood! One of the only spots that I've recently ordered a rare steak that came out rare. Caesar salad was also good. Everyone was super friendly.
