The Victory Belles are always fun to see. This was their Christmas show and probably my least favorite but still very well done. We loved that history is always added into their shows here. The venue was decorated nicely for the holidays and everyone seemed happy to be there. We were able to seat ourselves and we ordered drinks from the bar.I will bring more friends to experience the theater and the beautiful Victory Belles!!

I'm really hesitant to write this review now...It was announced a few weeks ago that John Besh would not be continuing his relationship with the WWII Museum and so would not be providing the dinners before the shows at this venue. BUT the change over won't happen until August so...The Stage Door Canteen is just what the name suggests, dinner & a show (or just a show if you like). When I went with my Mom, it was a prix fixe menu with 2 to 3 choices for each (a soup or salad, pork or seafood or chicken, bread pudding or chocolate torte) and 1 free glass of wine. (see my photo for the full menu that we were offered) You can order more wine or a cocktail from the adjoining American Sector and run a tab. I'm not sure if they can make accommodations to dietary needs or not. Dinner service was well paced and I liked that our servers asked if we were ready for our next course to come out. The space is comfortable...until you've sat in the dining chairs all the way through the show, which was mostly a problem for my Mom.My food was mostly OK. My salad was a bit underdressed, my Mom's soup a bit undersalted. She loved her pork entree which was easily twice the size of more lackluster seafood pasta dish. Seriously, why skimp on pasta it's the cheapest item in there. She loved her bread pudding and my chocolate torte was HUGE and delicious and way too much. Then there was the performance (no clinking silverware as the meal was completely cleared, thank goodness). We saw the Rat Pack show and it was really entertaining. Much of the patter seems to have been based on the Live at the Sands album (which I own and know well) but the actors did a nice job of ad-libbing with the audience and customizing it to NOLA. I would definitely come back for a show as those are done in house by the WWII museum. We'll see about dinners in the future with the new company in charge.

For a buffet lunch prior to a show, this is well done. I've been here twice for a team event with lunch and the musical show. Lunch is fresh and abundant and buffet style: two fresh green salad choices with vinegarette , green peas with onions, julienned summer squash, rice pilaf, pasta with mushrooms, artichokes and shrimp, chicken in a Cajun cream sauce with capers, rolls and butter and a daily dessert. The two shows I have been to have been fun, period music shows with impressive singers. Yesterday we saw "the best of Sinatra" and the band and gentleman planning Sinatra were spot on, giving us history along the way and crooning away. "Sinatra" played up to a octogenarian and made her day with a dance and hand kiss. She looked so happy. A nice and unique way to spend an afternoon with friends.

We came to see the Frank Sinatra tribute show - very fun and entertaining. The food was also quite good for a buffet.

The Bob Hope show is good and has some talented performers. The price of drinks with an Abita Amber costing almost $7 is absolutely ludicrous so I can't recommend drinking here for performances. The upstairs seating isn't the best view or seating arrangement so downstairs is far better.

The staff, from the A/V tech to the waiters all the way up to the managers, were courteous, competent, and professional. The food was delicious, and the drinks kept flowing. The venue itself is gorgeous, and was the perfect mix of welcoming and classy. For our event (a pre-wedding reception for 100), this was the perfect place with the perfect people

Very disappointing experience, last time I ate there it was a John Bush production and really enjoyed it. The gumbo was good. Wife had a grilled cheese with artichoke, it was more like a dip on toast.. She did not care for it. I had pot roast on Mashed on white toast.. Bland, boring and lacked imagination. $42.00 for bland and goo in Nola.. Beware hungry museum goers. BTW we did not even have a $10.00 glass of wine, this cost was only for mediocre, boring food.

The events coordinator and catering staff did the most fantastic job with our wedding reception at the Stage Door Canteen. We had about 200 guests and rented both the atrium and the canteen room. The atrium housed all the food, and the two bars were within the canteen. The lights, the photographs, and the overall decor of the museum is such a fantastic setting for a reception. The food provided by American Sector was truly great. Combined with the 11-piece band, (Jubilation!) my guests told me it was one of the most fun receptions they had ever been to.
