Delicious boiled jumbo shrimp! One pound was 12.99. You could choose level of spicy. Medium has quite a kick. Highly recommend! My friend got smothered pork chops in a gravy. Loved it. Old time sides like collard greens, corn on the cob, smothered cabbage..

Pretty darn yummy. *but about 15-20% overpriced*We had: Yakamein - pretty good, rich, hot broth, needs spice.BBQ Chicken - fall off the damn bone! Meatball Stew - yeah, ok. Needs some spice.Mac and Cheese - solidDirty Rice - best thing on the plate!But...They were out of everything green! Collards / Green Beans / Coleslaw...You can't eat soul food (and do a full review) without something green!Come on now...I'll go back... but I'll call ahead and check on them greens first

After some procrastinating on my part. I finally decided to give this place a try. I ordered the Crawfish Etouffee with white rice and potatoes salad (it had small chunks of potatoes, not a fan of that) and green beans. The green beans and the catfish were the best part of the meal. The Etouffee lacked that true Creole Crawfish Etouffee flavor and color. It was just bland with no flavor whatsoever. The rice was a little sticky but edible. The service was great and price was okay.

Food, service, and ambiance was spectacularly awesome. I ordered the red beans and rice, wing, greens, and mashed potatoes with a side of meatloaf. I enjoyed my plate and would definitely come back! One of the best soul foods I've had in a long time.

My brother and I went there several times on a visit back to Lafayette. I thought the food was absolutely amazing. Just like my maw-maw's home cooking. I had the smother chicken and pork chops. The staff was very kind and courteous. It was very clean with plenty of places to sit and visit. I cannot recommend this place enough. Can't wait to go back.

I just had the smothered chicken lunch special for the first time and it was great!They provide generous portions and I'll easily be able to make 2 meals out of this. The chicken had really good flavor and was falling off the bone. The rice was cooked perfectly and they had a great balance of rice to gravy. The mac n cheese & green bean sides were average but the corn bread was very tasty. All that for under $15. I'm very happy I tried this place today and will definitely be going back to see what else I've been missing out on. Additional details about the restaurant - There is ample parking in that shopping center. The restaurant was very clean and the workers were prompt and friendly. They have contactless payment for those who use Apple wallet. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes with a quality meal. Great for a short lunch break! Ditch traditional fast food and support local businesses like this to get real bang for your buck.

Fish was mostly batter. Actual fish was small and rubbery. Not so good. The menu sides listed were not available. Only had a few sides prepared. Not so good for a southern restaurant.

The service was good. The cashiers that helped me and my friend were very informative when we asked what each items consisted and contained. They also allowed my friend to exchange her seafood (she got boiled shrimp with sides which wasn't good) for another menu option. Now to the food.The potato salad was good- just plain old potato salad. The mash potatoes kinda gave insta mash potatoes but was smooth and good. The meatballs and gravy was not is though. Something felt off about the gravy after a couple bites. It seemed like I was eating more roux than gravy. The meatballs weren't fully cooked when I cut them open. I've never had a tender meatball so that threw me off. The restaurant had a beauty atmosphere and a fun, cute wall you could take picture at. Meatball stew: 5/10Potato salad: 5/10Mash potatoes 5/10

I tried Soul Haus for the first time today and it didn't disappoint. The food was delicious and seasoned well. I didn't have to add anything to it to enhance the flavor. I'll definitely be back to try some other items on the menu.
