Soma

Strange place... food was decent, fries were great. Service was great...but overall, kind of over priced. Ambiance was off. We were the only people in the restaurant, but the because of the way it's laid out, you wouldn't be able to tell if anyone else is eating there unless you see them walking in. There's a bar in the back, but you can't see it. Cristian contemporary music was playing (which I applaud) but it just added to the strangeness of this dining experience. The menu was choppy and confusing. The appetizers were in the back, and many of the entrees I'd like to have tried are only available from 4-8:30 pm... I hope they make it, I hope every local entrepreneur makes it, and also we need more choices in Houma. But based on today's experience, I don't see that happening.

Went there yesterday for lunch and it was delicious. The best spinach and artichoke dip I had ever had. The quesidias were on special and that is what I had and they were very good. I had the shrimp. It was noon and we were the only people in the restaurant. That was confusing to me because the food was great. The bill was just under $50 for two, but that is kind of standard in this economy. Service was great, but it was a little short on the ambiance. Still cannot figure out why no one else was in that restaurant at high noon, but that's Houma. I will definitely go back
