Very casual atmosphere. Employees didn't have any kind of uniform- which in fine with, but I think it speaks to how casual the place is. So don't worry about having to dress up. Nice jazz music played throughout our visit. We were able to choose where we sat. Got the crawfish étouffée cup and grilled red snapper as my entree. The étouffée was okay; nothing I'd order again but it wasn't terrible. Warmed me up on a cold night, flavor was decent, barely any crawfish in the serving. Food came out extremely fast. The red snapper itself was good. I've never had it before so didn't have any compassions; it's a rather bland fish. Flaky. The cream sauce on top was good and had more crawfish in that cream sauce than in the cup of étouffée. Ceaser salad was good. Potato salad was definitely store bought - tastes exactly like the potato salad I used to purchase from Walmart. Our server was nice. Bathrooms were dated. The women's restroom door doesn't fully open; it'll stop quickly, which I wasn't expecting, nearly slammed my face on my way out It was alright. Not terrible. Not amazing. Probably wouldn't visit here again but it's good if you're at one of the surrounding hotels and need something quick.

It was a small, casual place, nothing too flashy. We took two seats at the bar which holds maybe 8 people. Being that it was a pretty cool night out, we each got a cup of crawfish etoufee. I hadn't had it before, but I enjoyed it. The etoufee came with a scoop of white rice and side of garlic bread. There was plenty of crawfish tails in the cup too.For an entree, we split the grilled red snapper filet, which is usually one of my favorite fishes. Not this one. It didn't taste all that fresh, and it was smothered with a white creamy crawfish sauce. But the sauce was way too heavy and creamy to the point that it overpowered the fish. Very disappointing. It did come with two sides, we had a house salad and Caesar salad. The house salad was fine, it had some spring greens, which gave it a nice touch. But the Italian dressing was your standard thick golden Kraft. Come on Snapper's, do better than that please. You are in New Orleans, certain standards are required.

If you hungry and don't feel like standing in line for food on canal street then this is the place you need to go. Service was welcoming. I felt like they were old friends. Very laid back in The Big East

I hate giving low reviews when they service is actually good. Our waitress was a sweetheart but the food was really bad! This is thus far the only place in NOLA whose food I didn't like. I had raw oysters that tasted a bit weird and were unnecessarily huge. Also ordered gumbo and it was soooo salty.

I was looking for a restaurant near the hotel that serves Cajun food. I was sent in the direction of Snappers seafood on Canal. Fairly small restaurant but the service was friendly and fast. I asked our server if they could make a bloody Mary. He said of course! When it arrived it looked bland like tomato juice in a glass with ice. Unfortunately it was horrible! I never had a sweet Bloody Mary before. I'm not sure what happened but I was so disappointed and I just wrote it off. However the Food was delicious. No thrills but done well! The fish was cooked perfectly and the green beans were epic. My husband enjoyed his po boy tooI would go back because of the food, service, and prices.

We tried to have at least one po' boy while here. The shrimp po' boy was pretty decent, nothing special. French fries were good. Grilled alligator was good but not a generous portion. Nothing super memorable but no real complaints. Service was ok. Bathrooms were a little dated but fine. Not my favorite place to eat in New Orleans but it was fine.

Stumbled upon this restaurant while walking down canal street and visiting the best foodie shops in town. I had just missed their lunch menu so that was a bummer. However I still decided to see what else they had in store for the hour. I wanted to just give a few plates a taste so I ordered the fried shrimp and fries plate which had fresh arugula and cocktail sauce. The fries were crunchy, hot, and shrimp had a nice flaky and soft bite to it. I enjoyed every bite of my meal. I definitely would have ordered more food but decided I wasn't going to be dining there much longer due to certain circumstances. The only thing that kept me from ordering anything else was the simple fact that the host seemed impatient and continuously asked me questions/proceeded to make sure I was staying around to order anything else. There was also a man smoking a cigarette directly in front of their entry into the restaurant. The pumpkin spice candle or fragrant smell coming from the back of the restaurant added a nice touch to the air quality, however I just seemed to feel rushed and got a headache after. Overall, a great place to try!

Nice seafood with a view. Less touristy than most places in this neighborhood. I still dream about the redfish with etoufee.

My friends and I stopped here for a nice dinner after a long day of Airboatin' and it didn't disappoint. We actually went to a different restaurant initially but the wait was way too long so we decided to walk around a bit to find something and we were glad we did.The wait to get seated on a Saturday night was only about 5 minutes, which was really good for a group of six. We ordered our drinks, which came out quickly, and then our food, which came out really fast as well. The food was all really good. I got the sampler and crab cake, both were delicious. The service was really nice and attentive as well.Overall, this was a great dinner and I would definitely go back.

Was seated after a 3 min wait to clean table. Was looking for a nice place not fast food. Had the soft shell crab plate and bread pudding. Was very delicious!! Service was fast and very good. My waiter was very attentive and treated me well. I plan on returning here my next trip to NOLA.
