A must visit on the dive bar list. Solid variety of beers and drinks. Bartender was excellent whether you're a local or passerby with a good chat and knowledgeable of the area.

I don't even remember how we heard about this place, but I'm glad we did! It was a short, pleasant walk from our Airbnb and it being a Monday night, we were the only customers in the bar. This tiny neighborhood dive is lit only by string lights and has the cutest patio out back. I wouldn't recommend this spot for cocktails, which probably won't surprise anyone. The star attraction though is the two chunky pups loafing around in their light-up collars. If we lived in town, I'd probably be here quite often.

This is a Dive Bar to rival the best Dive Bars. If you like one, check it out. Cool vibe, lot of locals, casual service.

Super tacky dive! Fun visit for sure. It's super dark in there and they appear to stay pretty busy so get there early to get a seat. Worth a visit away from Bourbon Street!

Top 5 bars I've been to in NOLA. Cannot wait for our next trip to go back here and visit the friends we made!! I somehow convinced our cousin and his wife to do their gender reveal and the bartender was up for the challenge! He made a blue and pink shot and then poured it for the reveal. It was so much fun! We had the whole bar involved. If you want to get out of the French Quarter and do something cool, this is the place to go.

An absolute must. Can you resist the chance to just tell people you went to a bar with this name? Thankfully, it's a great time and decent location if you want to experience New Orleans nightlife outside Bourbon Street, but still not too far away. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from the St. Charles streetcar or the world famous Jacques-Imo's, so it's a great stop after dinner. It's the type of place you'll walk by and wonder, "is this a bar or a shack?" A shack of dreams, maybe. Inside, it's dark and divey, with festive lights bathing everything and everyone in a deep red glow. We had a cheap shot and beer, always a good combo. The best part of the place is the vibe. Everyone was positive, and this is one of the few places you could actually strike up a conversation with some random bar-goers and really connect.

The best bar I've ever been to. Go here. I'm not really a regular or anything so I'll spare the job for a more detailed review for someone else. Dog friendly.

Fun place. The bartender is a dog. For real lol. This is a must on your dive bar tour of New Orleans.you can walk about 6-7 blocks from the St. Charles trolley and get there or take a taxi from the french quarter but that takes a while. The walk was not bad. The owner/staff was nice enough. We got there early like 6 pm they were barley open but COVID had us going out early since everything closed at 11 pm. Ill be back next week when hopefully it will be a bit more normal. This feels like a neighborhood bar and is right up my alley.

Gotta say Snake and Jakes is legendary. The kind of late night dive bar when asked about you just nod and smile.
