The food is excellent. Made to order. No substitutions however. The fries!!! Corkscrew seasoned perfectly fried. The ambiance is laid back for dancing or having a convo with slots. Dont let the outside fool you, when you step inside your are transported! the locals are working class kind folks. Awesome dive bar gem. Crawfish on Tuesday!

I can't even count the number of ways I love Skinny and Marie's Tavern. On my first night in New Orleans, I arrived alone and after leaving my things at the Airbnb, I was starving. I hadn't eaten anything except pretzels since 7am. I figured I'd save my appetite for New Orleans. I didn't want to pay the 200% extra charge for Lyft to get to the French Quarter, so I thought I would just wander the neighborhood for the first edible food I could find. I only had to go to walk about 6 houses away to reach a corner where the parking lot was full of cars and the bumping late 90s hip hop was spinning. The music alone seduced me. There isn't even a handle for the door, I had to be buzzed in, it felt like going into a speak easy.Inside, the lights were dim and the DJ was spinning. There wasn't a seat in the house. People were laughing and having a great time. No one cared that some strange Asian looking girl just walked in, obviously a tourist. I felt immediately welcomed and like I had unearthed a prized gem walking into this Tavern. It was Seafood Tuesday that night where two drinks get you an incredible styrofoam "plate" (take away box) filled with crawfish, potato, sausage, corn and even a turkey neck? Can you imagine how good a Stella and crawfish is?? After one bite of my my tastebuds were in heaven. I should have had two boxes that night because I wanted to start slow and only had one. That was a mistake. That was just the first night - Tish, K, and everyone there made me feel so at home. Once my friend arrived, we would have many more happy starts of the night at Skinny and Marie's. Even if you aren't staying in the area, come on a Tuesday, Thursday or a Sunday for their true southern hospitality, strong drinks, good music, and unforgettable food. My only complaint is I wish there was more food every night and that Skinny and Marie's stayed open really late!!Skinny and Marie's is first place I'm coming back to in NOLA. Call ahead and find out when the food nights are, things might have changed by the time you read this review.I had my Cheers moment her in NOLA were everyone did know your name.

Nice little place with a nice little crowd. My colleagues took me here and we had so much fun we went back the next day for seafood night. Free crawfish and all the trimmings when you buy two drinks which they served in glasses not plastic cups. They had this skinny punch and it's delicious and will get you right! The people are so friendly and just having the best time ever. The restroom was clean there was ample parking on the street. I can't wait to go back and have more fun and more skinny punch.

This is a place to pass on I paid 10.00 for a Long Island Tea smh and it was the worst drink ever and it was in a really small cup . It was supposed to be a watermelon flavor type but it tastes just like cough syrup. A waste of money and time. DON'T ORDER LONG ISLAND TEA HERE

If you visit this place, there is not a lot of parking around...so please do not block the neighbor's driveways. You will get towed or worse.

I went for Karaoke and stayed for the friendly atmosphere, laughter and music. This place was like the "Cheers" of the Seventh Ward; everybody knew each other's name and though I was a newcomer, I wasn't made to feel like an outsider. The drinks and food weren't amazing, but they were good for a small neighborhood bar. I will be going back!
