Visitors to New Orleans and locals alike are familiar with Simon's artwork, which adorns restaurants and homes throughout the city. His distinctive pieces, characterized by vibrant colors, unique lettering, and diverse imagery, including animals and slogans in French, English, and local dialect, are ubiquitous. Simon also have an online store to purchase. Beyond his art, Simon's establishment features an antique store accessible through a side entrance, showcasing an extensive collection of romantic era-themed items.

Great pop up in Jackson Square during French Quarter Festival. Love the vibrant colors and the artist is so nice. You can actually go to his "storefront" in the Quarter and commission one of a kind sign designs.

Whether you've known it or not, you've seen a Simon piece if you've spent any amount of time around New Orleans. His signs dot the New Orleans landscapes like little scraps of wisdom meant to guide you on your life's journey. Sometimes they're literal instruction signs (like where to put your trash, or where to grab a geaux/go-cup), but often times they're more inspirational like "be nice or leave."Wandering through this workshop area is always a wonder. You will see works old and new, and chances are you will see Simon himself, working and interacting with everyone who strolls through. While the artist is not always in the yard, he has been a solid 60% of the time I've visited, so your chances have to be pretty good. There is something for everyone, from custom pieces, to limited edition pieces, to magnets for everyone to enjoy. Stop on by, say hi, and support this great local artist!

Simon is a New Orleans institution. His cute art is everywhere in the city, but this was my first time stopping by his studio. I was surprised by how friendly he is! I guess I should have known, since everyone in New Orleans is friendly. ("Be nice or leave!") When he found out I was a Saints fan, he gave me an extra magnet for free!

This place is quintessential New Orleans. Local artist who is super friendly, always mingling with customers and always ready to take a picture. His art is famous in New Orleans. I see it all the time at different restaurants and stores and my friends even had him make a piece for their wedding, which all the guests signed. His workshop is open to browse around and chat with him and it's connected to a really neat antique store. My fiancé is French and still lives in Paris, but every time he visits we come to Simon's shop and he remembers my fiancé and they always get to speak a little French with each other. My fiancé brought his best friend to New Orleans for a week and when we stopped here Simon gave his friend a free magnet just for being French. He's just such a great guy and his art is a Nola staple.

Disclaimer...I hate this art. It's gaudy and obnoxious. But people here seem to love it. It's usually colorful blithe sayings like "Unrully children will be cooked and eaten." In addition to the plethora of crappy folk art, and mass produced wall garbage there is an antique shop attached. It has lots of dried flowers scattered about on stacks of brown smelly furniture. Bonus star for the dried flowers and cool crown adornment near the front door.

Simon is a spectacular artist and a really warm and inviting dude. We're getting one of his custom signs for our New Orleans wedding this coming November. When I think of New Orleans, his designs are some of the most prominent things that come to my mind. The shop is amazing to walk around and experience. The prices are very responsible for what you get, which is great hand made art that will always bring you back to the Crescent City no matter where you are.

New Orleans would not be the same without Simon. His art is now ubiquitous from the Lower Garden to Uptown, the French Quarter, Bywater and Beyond. His signs are becoming symbolic of a city that is the embodiment of freedom of color and speech. I love to visit Simon's workshop every time I am in town. I buy a sign, and peruse his wife Maria's dream-like antique shop next door where time seems to be crystallized in a romantic, by-gone era. Both experiences are a real treat for me.
