Location not far from major hotels in the area. Easy to walk to. Cute bar vibe, really nice service and food was delicious! Po-boy was a super light, crispy coating and oysters were soft. Good happy hour options & pricing. Breakfast available in morning and lunch/dinner for later in the day. Id go back for sure.

Continuing on our Happy Hour oyster search...The Sidecar Nola Patio & Oyster Bar has an amazing selection of oysters to choose from. There's a board posted up telling you the variety that is currently available. It's a very self service experience. From the moment you walk in, you seat yourself and either grab a printed menu on the way in or scan the QR code. You then order from your phone as well. There's minimal contact with the employees. There's also an expected tip line when ordering as you pay upfront with your credit card before any service actually has happened.When our oysters arrived, I asked about getting some waters for the table. The guy who brought the oysters was kind enough to bring me the waters and also mentioned the self service water station for the future. The Husband and Little Guy really enjoyed their Cheeseburger $16 as well. It was an outdoor eating area, and it did start to sprinkle. As a result, the mosquitos were out too which I tend to be a favorite for them unfortunately.I would totally have this place in my lineup of happy hour oysters for sure. I grew up in New Orleans and love the fun loving spirit of the city. Any excuse for a party! I've been here for 4 days. To see high school classmates and eat! Especially raw oysters!We have had a lot of good meals. However I wasn't bowled over by any of them. I feel like the explosion of restaurants has resulted in the dilution of flavor of the food. New chefs didn't have the same rigor in meal preparation. After finishing our meals here I felt too full yet not satisfied. Sidecar Nola was a fun experience. You access the menu from a CR code. Service is basically nonexistent. There's a bar you need to visit if you want a drink. We ordered charbroiled oysters and a shrimp po boy. The bread on the po boy was not the traditional bread. Too soft and bulky. The oysters were okay but not memorable. It took a long time to get our food. That was not bad because sitting outside in the large, lush patio was lovely. A large, boisterous party close by consisted of members of the Crewe of Boo. They created a Mardi Gras style parade for the next evening. The similar thing happened with China. I lived there for all of the 1980s. As the middle class grew larger, the quality of restaurant food went down. New Orleans is a major tourist destination. Tons of tourists. Unfortunately the quality of restaurant food has suffered as traditional food, like gumbo, ceases being authentic.

Cute spot, wonderful place to hang out and get some great food, like oysters (!), or a drink from one of the two bars located there. the upstairs part seems to be reserved for private parties yet more than enough room to sit. Their happy hour looks fun too!

Sidecar oysters are so fresh you'll swear you hear waves crashing in the background--whether raw, chargrilled, or fried, they're pure perfection. The shrimp tacos are a crunchy, zesty masterpiece, with juicy shrimp, crisp slaw, and just enough kick to keep things interesting. They're so good, you'll end up stealing bites from your friend's plate. Pro tip: don't share.

I love coming here for the raw oysters, fries, and ambiance. The outdoor patio is spacious and full of greenery. Their west coast oysters from Washington are my favorite!

Just my luck, my car was running hot and the dash advised me to pull over & park immediately! I needed somewhere to get cool and have a refreshing drink to calm my nerves. This joint was literally a 6 min walk from where I parked, and I made it during happy hour !I love skulls so the huge skeleton in the courtyard added to the already dope atmosphere. Even though I sat outside, the temperature wasn't too bad, I think they had fans maybe . The drinks came out expeditiously by the way, I had the French 75 & a specially made spicy margarita! This was just the pit stop I needed! I'll be back!

This is a rewrite since my first review didn't save correctly. I came across Sidecar while searching for a happy hour spot close to the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. They offer $5 frozen margaritas and 1/2 off oysters Monday-Friday, 4 -6 pm. I'm not an oyster girl, so I was happy for the margarita special. The margaritas were nice and strong. However, they were a little soupy. I think they needed extra time to freeze to get the frozen consistency. Sidecar has a really nice outside vibe. There's two levels and plenty of space for a large crowd. The bottom floor has tables with umbrellas to block the sun. There's even large fans mounted on the wall to offer some relief from the NOLA heat. They were playing 90s R&B music, which made me happy. I definitely recommend a visit if you want good vibes and strong drinks.

Getting right off of a plane and being able to do a happy hour with half off oysters and $5 margaritas. What more can you ask for? We ordered right at the bar and then got a number and found a table. I was actually really surprised that we found a table because a game was going on and it was pretty packed. The food came out really fast and was delicious. I got the half off oyster platter with a variety of oysters and the cheese fries. And the fries were waffle fries and they were delicious. My friend got a gin drink that looked amazing and I contemplated that after having one of the margaritas. I really enjoyed the happy hour here and would suggest anybody going back. Other things on the menu looked good but for half off an oyster platter I'm all in.

Food was expensive and small portioned. I got an espresso martini that when poured into a plastic Togo cup maybe filled 6oz. The ambiance was nice but there is no table service. When my bf went to order drinks and food at the bar the employee handed him a tray with our drinks and oyster shooters. My bf made a joke and said "I haven't done this since I was 18" as he grabbed the tray. And the employee said "i believe in you" my bf also left a nice tip before realizing there is no service at this place. It's serve yourself. Including to go boxes, napkin etc. which is fine if that's what you are expecting and prices reflect that. Won't be returning
