What a fantastic space. My friend's buddy is an owner so he suggested we have a small gathering here. Its a very nicely appointed patio space. When you arrive, you place your starting drink and food orders. We arrived early enough to choose any seating. Tables are well distanced apart. Masks are required to enter. We chose their covered seating area..it included a nice tv and a couple of cooling units..huge plus! This is the only place I have been to so far that offers Voodoo beer by Tin Roof so I was in love already. They have a refreshing menu..not all typical bar food. So I saw they had Tuna Tartar..first thought was..sh*t should I order raw fish at a bar??!! The waitress highly recommended it so wht the hell..it was fantastic!! We also tried the shrimp remolaude which was tasty as well. This is such a nice space that I am very much looking forward to returning.

I came to this little bar to hear an acoustic Mia Borders show. It's a small, cozy place with a couch, and comfy chairs as you walk in. A small bar, and a back performance room with a space for the performer. The back room fits perhaps 12-15 people. I've used the descriptors of little, small, cozy, and let's throw in the word intimate. The bartender is also the emcee, and made introductions and gave some info. Mia Borders was super. Her songs are powerful, and great life stories. There is just enough amplification to highlight vocals, and seems perfect for the room. Not a great selection of liquors, but it's "enough". They also have specialty drinks, although they were out of a couple of items when I was there. I REALLY enjoyed Mia's show, and this little "Sidebar" is pretty cool.

This is a cute place: simple, little, comfortable. This feels like the bartender's living room and you get better service if he likes you more and you listen to his stories. He did make a decent old fashioned. They have a side room for listening to music. The night I visited thee was a cellist playing some rather odd electric cello...sounds, can't call them tunes. I liked this place but felt a little nervous walking back to my car alone in this neighborhood. A place with potential.

I love this place. It's intimate and always has wonderful musicians playing. I love how off the beaten path it is, not everyone knows about it. I hadn't been in a while, so I was happy to go when my friend suggested the show. You walk in the door and are transported from the street (where the place doesn't look like much) and receive a warm welcome. The music venue part of the bar is to the side of the bar (haha right) and is almost like another room. It's pretty big once you actually walk around the corner. There's a lot of chairs so you can sit by the music! There's also couches and sitting area in the bar area. We had blood orange margaritas which were delicious and strong! We listened to the music for a while but it was just so crowded in the room so we were sitting on the floor, but we went in the other area and you can still hear the music! I need to go more often!

This place was chill and inviting. Seating area when you first walked in gives you living room vibes, like you can stay and congregate with comfort. Live music. Hilarious regulars who treat you like they've known you forever. This is the place to go if you want to hideout from the crowd and just chill. Keith! thanks for the hospitality.

Tucked away behind the courthouse and near the jail, this place has a "you're home" sorta feel. Everyone seems to know each other or will know each other by the end of the night. In a sense, there's so much passion on Tulane Ave, that you can tell people who visit Sidebar are fiercely loyal and fiercely regular patrons. They have an awesome variety of craft cocktails, or can serve you up your regular favorite. They serve food during the day and bring in popups for specialty nights. There's often a band playing and if you're nice to the bartender, he or she might fry up some homemade potato chips behind the bar. Whiskey and wine Wednesdays makes for an affordable night out, too! Not a ton of seating, but a large comfy-looking couch in the main bar. Bar stools if you're lucky enough to grab one, and then seating in the "music" room off to the side. Well lit street parking, easy to find.

It's a great bar with wonderful music and a cozy, upscale ambience. It's in a bit of a random location next to the jail, but once you're inside, you'd never know. The drinks are really good. You'll find something you like on there for sure. Even though the bar is small, you can still sit in the parlor area and talk while hearing the music.

I love Ana! She makes bomb drinks. And this place has bonded whiskey for $9 a shot. So. Good.

I haven't been here in a while and definitely need to go back. Keith was super nice and the drinks were great. I also tried the turkey sandwich and it was pretty good but the shining start were the house potato chips. He pulled them out of this brine and dropped them in the grease and they were SO good. It's a small spot and has a lot of musicians and poets come to perform, which I think is great. It's beside the Tulane and Broad courthouse (criminal court). I first noticed it when I was interning at the district attorney's office and thought that the name was super cute because it's a bar on the side of the court and because you ask the judge for a sidebar when you want to say something out of earshot of others in the courthouse.
