This is my favorite restaurant of all time no exaggeration Seriously I've had excellent even outstanding Thai food, but nothing has come close, not even in the same ballpark to this heaven on earth You can tell when people from love. The portions are more than generous and prices are better than anything in the city with three times the amount of food. When I see reviews with people complaining about the wait for the food I have corrected them and explained that they make everything from scratch per order and they are complicated because they have a lot of ingredients I cook Thai food. I've worked at Thai restaurants. I had 2 very good Thai cooks as roommates at the restaurant that I worked at previously My favorite dishes are som tom- which is a green papaya salad with poo dang (Pickled fermented crab). MUST TRY!!!!! if you don't wanna eat pickled fermented crab just get it with. the shrimp Nam Touk (waterfall beef salad)Pad Ghang fried fish in eggplant curry I love the seafood soup and larb These dishes are very flavorful and shock the senses For the newbies the curries are OUTSTANDING and not from a paste in a can like most places. Yes it's painful, and time seeking to make such a complex dish so almost every restaurant you go to uses the same stuff you can get from Asian grocer in a can For people who are in doubt just try it The reviews don't lie! If you're in doubt you're gonna wanna slap yourself once you finally go Now if they could just come to the city or somebody from that family marry me so I can have it all the time that would be good

Massive portions massive portions! That's the first thing. My first time attending this place and I definitely will return despite a minor hiccup, but we ordered the tofu pad Thai spice level .5 and the shrimp Curry spice level 0. When you get inside the first thing you do is wait and they'll seat you. The service was pretty good and the ambience is pretty basic but you're there to eat now to engaging the tour. The flavor of both dishes was amazing. The only downside was they mixed up the spice levels on the dishes. So the shrimp Curry which was only supposed to be a 5 was too spicy for me but the flavor was good and the tofu pad Thai also had a great flavor but no spice. I would definitely recommend starting at a .5 a spice level or zero if you're not a fan of it at all. Or zero if you're not a fan of it at all. I highly recommend ordering with your eyes and not your stomach because the portions are massive and you're definitely taking home food. This place would have had five stars with the exception to the spice level mix up where I couldn't the fully eat the shrimp curry but I'll return

As always, the food and the service are excellent. I don't think you could go wrong with anything off the menu. However, you really wanna pay attention to the spice level. It appears the only complaints people have are the ones that have never been here before and didn't realize how spicy their food is. But it's a beautiful restaurant very cozy atmosphere.

Secret Thai is the winner for portion sizes among all the various Thai restaurant options we have in the New Orleans area. Their food is also able to be spiced at multiple levels so tread carefully with the spicier levels. The soup bowls here are the largest I've ever seen at any Thai joint and they are a full meal by themselves. The prices here are also very affordable and they offer a great value here for the amount of food that you get. Overall this is definitely one of the Thai places I frequent as the quality has always been good and the price is amazing for what you get.

My favorite Thai food in the New Orleans area! Huge portions for a great price and so delicious. Be careful cause they are not afraid of spice! I usually get a 1.5 and it's spicy but in the best way,

Wow, this place is way out there, but the servings are huge and extremely affordable. The food is tasty although I wish I had ordered everything to be at a scale of 1.5 because that would've been the perfect heat. The vegetables are nicely and the atmosphere is really pretty and the service was pleasant. It's really a beautiful brightly colored space and a tiny strip mall in Chalmette and the food is really really good. Will be back.

Secret Thai will forever be one of my top choices for Thai foods. The casual setting makes it easy-going and comfortable. The portions are huge, so you're getting your money's worth by 2x. I always come home with leftovers that still taste just as good the next day. As someone with a high tolerance for spice, the spice levels 2-3 are great. Some of my favorite dishes are the crab rangoon, red curry, papaya salad, larb, pad see ew, and south sea fried rice. I can't wait to try more!

They don't call this place a secret for nothing. It's the definition of 'if you know you know' type of place. Secret Thai is a hidden gem in Chalmette, Louisiana. Now I have only gotten my food to go but the ambiance is inviting, very colorful with plenty of plants. The food is delicious, and the portion sizes are ridiculously large. I always get the drunken noodles and I can eat off of it for days! I also recommend their Thai tea, so rich and creamy. The prices are very low considering your portion size. The service is good but they take a long time. I recommend calling in advance with your order. Also, food is spicy so make sure you request the right amount of spice for your tastebuds. Located in a strip mall so there is plenty of parking available.

First things first, the hype about them being spicy is true. Aside from that and the portion sizes (mostly carbs), I found the flavor to be lacking and the service not that great. I mostly went because it was the only place in the area claiming to serve 'Ghost Gate Pad Thai'. It is not that. It is regular (if not overly sugary) pad thai with a side of egg. The seating is also weird since you could be seated at a table without napkins, condiments, or the other amenities tables have. It felt like some larger tables were split in half, and they forgot to finish setting up the new tables.
