Okay. So it wasn't perfect. But the nostalgia value is so high, and the concept is so cool, and the bar and food service is so great, and the vibe is so perfect for what this is, that I wouldn't feel right knocking it very much. The arcade systems... they're clunky. I saw Contra, and thought, "oh man, I haven't played a buddy at Contra in an arcade since high school (I'm 47)"!... and I still haven't . The machines either wouldn't recognize we were attempting to play a 2nd player, or a joystick would crap out, etc, just tons of tech issues. But I mean, for the price to play all night, with a DJ in a cool vibe and access to bar food and beverages, all at reasonable prices, I will 1000% do it again, and the friend I took with me agreed. Very cool hangout. Relaxed.

They have The Sims 1 or 2 (can't remember which)! I could base my review on that alone, but, alas, there are other reasons for frequenting Sea Cave:-Super Nintendo and other consoles on vintage TVs-Great service-Excellent DJ that spurred an instant friendship between 2 people in our party bc of their Danzig/disco mashup -Good snacks (fries are good) with a lot of vegan options-Seashells on the ceiling

Vibes are a little odd. Definitely has its regulars and they aren't exactly looking for more patrons. Tried to order a drink and my husband was already ready to leave in the 30 min it took me to get a drink. Many of the game machines were broken/out of order. This made the ones that were in service very crowded. Very limited menu. They are struggling to stay open right now. But there is a cat that wanders around so there's that

This one is for all you old school arcade nerds out there! As for me, I'm just here for the underwater vibes (how cool is that theme BTW?) and bubbly by the glass. Vegan options noted. These make a ton of sense for you to be gobbling down in between turns at Ms Pac Man (to be transparent, I don't even know if they have Ms. Pac Man. I ask that you look at other reviews to see what they've got going on as far the games go). Think finger foods and the like. I also read that you pay for a wristband to play whatever you want. Little me is mad at adult me for not taking advantage of this as it was all quarters back in the 80s and you ran out of those fast.A super cute and fun addition to the St. Claude corridor. I'll definitely stop in again.

Went in there to check it out, but it was so full of greasy cooking smoke that we couldn't breathe. Also, they don't currently have a liquor license, and I saw a cat in the kitchen. Looks like it would be fun if they would get those things sorted. They were playing a Muppet movie in the back yard.

Possibly the best place to go for entertainment in the parish. So many nice people, cool events, nice vibes, and of course, great games. Be it classic upright arcade cabinets or retro consoles, this place has it all. It's the first place I go whenever I wanna hang out somewhere. They do high score competitions, speed run competitions where you compete to see who can finish a game the fastest, and of course classic elimination style tournaments every Sunday for various different VS games, including both fighting games like Street Fighter (The classics, as well as the brand new 6) as well as head to head puzzle games like Tetris.I couldn't reccomend this place enough. They've had their ups and their downs these past couple years, but overall I can't think of a place I'd wanna hang out at more than here. I don't even drink personally, but there's more than enough for someone like me to enjoy the place. As someone often pretty bummed out about the lack of classic arcades down here, this fills that void pretty damn well.Signed, undefeated Lethal League Blaze champion

Super cool spot! This place was recommended to us by a vendor at the Frenchman art market as something local, nerdy, and unique to check out. We absolutely loved it.We met the owner and he was very kind. The space has so many games and has a very cozy home-type feel. I wish we had a laid back nerdy spot like this to hang out at in LA. Would love to pop in next time we're back in town!

A complete hidden gem. The bartenders are amazing, it's funky and cool inside, and the games are tons of fun and nostalgic. This was one of the most fun nights I've had. Playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and getting amazing drinks all night is something you can probably only get at Sea Cave

One of the great old school game arcades in the country not just New Orleans. $5 gets you all the games you can play and there are hundreds of them. The drinks are as cheap as the admission and I hear the food is great too. Im going to start going there on the weekends and chill when there is nothing else better to do.

I went here only for the food as I heard they had a Hawaiian (inspired?) menu. Look, it was awful, the tofu was terrible, how can you just not flavor tofu, cut it into large chunks and over airfry it y'all?? So beware if you're looking for snacks because this place will surely disappoint. The rest in my party found their various dishes lacking in taste as well. But I'm giving it 4 stars because it's a small local business and I'm not here to crap on small local businesses. Food is obviously an after thought at this place; in a city that requires bars serve food if they want a new liquor license. Oh yeah but the specialty drinks are overpriced AND didn't have prices on the menu. Wasn't a fan of the bartenders attitude either. But hey, everyone seems to love this place for the games, so if that's you're thing and you're just trying to drink a PBR, Godspeed.
