Sand Bar On False River

2024 update. Sand Bar is under new ownership or management, I believe. Went there yesterday and had a wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly, food was brought out quickly and the burgers were very good.

It breaks my heart to give this place two stars. I love the ambience and the owner is great. However, the menu just keeps shrinking and nobody seems to care. Went there today - have been trying to get there by boat for two weeks and people have been parked all crazy so we couldn't get into any of the open spots... today we find that the last remaining menu item I truly loved has been discontinued. Mind you, the menu has already shrunk more than once in the last 12 months. Bartenders are not the friendliest, prices are high and the menu is continuously shrinking. The view and ambience are still amazing... but it's hard to get a spot if you're by boat because inexperienced boaters frequent here and don't know how to park.

This place is cool. We only stayed for one beer because it was so packed because of race weekend and the LSU game being on but I bet you can really enjoy this place when it's not a busy. It's right on the water, has a beach volleyball court and outside seating and TV so you can watch a game inside or out.

Can't find comparable loaded cheese fries anywhere. They're my favorite, and all I ever get. Bartenders are quick to take care of patrons. Love this place

I went with a group and they didn't have half of what they had on the online food menu. Paid restaurant prices for hotdog stand type food. They had a nice patio and looked to be a good spot for volleyball. Probably a cool place to drink but will not be returning to eat ever. Only reason for 2 stars is because the bartender was nice.

Oh my goodness. We just moved here and decided to stop for a quick lunch. The side of red beans and rice would have been a meal in itself, but it came with fried chicken and yams. Everything was perfectly cooked and the staff/service was wonderful. The owner was very informative of the area and the exciting things happening - beach volleyball, live bands, and cookouts!! We can even drive our boats to the dock to have a great time. I am so excited to be here!

This is a pet friendly fun place on False River.. you can launch here also. We had a hamburger and it was delicious. The fries are waffle and there was music playing.

The wait to get food is insane. Food was good but over an hour wait. We have been several times and it is getting worse. We loved the first time only because convenience. Second, third the wait was unacceptable
