A truly remote park. Not a lot to do but it was a great spot to park and camp for the night. There was also lots of wildlife. The bathrooms were not bad. Fairly clean and had showers.

Very nice park with great RV camping. We did not use the bath/shower house. We did take advantage of the large open fields in the back of the park to play with our large dogs (off leash. They are good dogs and no one was around). Pros to this park are location to New Orleans, grill, picnic table, trash cans onsite emptied daily and campfire ring. Cons are no level sites, no individual pump station on sites, no privacy and train tracks very, very, very close by. I also don't know why they give you a gate code because they never close the gate! We stayed 5 nights and EVERY NIGHT BETWEEN 10pm and 2am trains moving and CONSTANTLY blowing their horns! I mean for 15 - 30 mins at a time constant. Besides that it was quiet. Staff is ok. Good for a few nights but I wouldn't stay here longer than 3-4 nights again.

There is a fee to enter and use the park. There has been a lot of rain and there is a lot of standing water. I imagine it is wet a lot of the time, the mosquitoes are probably bad. The water park is really nice for children. The playground has padded ground, to prevent injuries. Covered areas with tables. RV hookups for that kind of camping. The pool was empty and closed, it didn't look like it had been used in a while. Nice for children's day use. There is a nature trail, take insect spray.

The park definitely has potential but it seems no one really takes care of it. The wifi isn't great and u have to pay to do laundry (I'm told most La state parks don't) showers weren't great either. Splash pad looked fun but wasn't open. Had a nice nature trail though! They've completely let the pool go to the gators sites were nice, a little cramped getting my 5th wheel in but not bad. Idk could be really nice with some work.

Swampy but that is expected in NOLA. The camping spots can be too small for a tent. We have a 14 by 12 tent and we barely had room. We were in number 50 and because we had an unimproved lot it was only $18 a night. I would come here again with the advanced knowledge of the spot to reserve.

I booked a site for tent camping at St. Bernard State Park for three days-Friday Saturday, and Sunday; February 17th, 18th, and 19th. When we arrived, there was no area to pitch a tent. I explained that we were tent camping when I made the reservation. As a matter of fact I was asked if I had an RV or a tent. I went back to the office and explained the situation to the Ranger. He said that we could move to any spot without electricity. There were about six or seven of these sites, because they were not booking these. We were not allowed a discount for this inconvenience. We checked out the next morning and were charged for two of the three days even though we had only stayed one night. FYI--the Wi-Fi did not work. I was very disappointed with my experience at the St. Bernard State Park.

I am a resident that likes to go daily and walk my dog. Now they want me to pay $5 a day to do this and they say sunday is free for residents. Well i don't care if it is because that is terrible and I won't be back on any day. I feel so sorry for the parents that loved to bring their kids. It was the one thing you could do with the kids that didn't cost a thing. There are many that will not be able to afford that. They are disgusting and greedy and I really hope that nobody gives them a dime. I won't. I guess they really only want people who camp to stay there and they know charging us will keep us out. It's a shame

Not the best state park Louisiana has but it is okay. I mostly like to go there to try out new camping equiment. You can camp and/or RV here. There is not really any good fishing places at the state park but you can drive less than a mile where you launch your boat at to fish.

It's a very simple park and the walking trails aren't impressive but it's clean and cheap price to use splash pad and has 2 nice covered playgrounds. We didn't stay here due to only having a dump station not actual sewer hook ups. We stayed up the road and drove here to let the kids play.
