Exactly what it should be. Just missing Patrick Swayze. Friendly crowd, great music, slightly claustrophobic, cars everywhere. Would love to play here!

Ruby's is a great divey Juke Joint.I have driven past this bar many times, but never went in. From the outside it looks like a run down shack, and there is almost always a Harley parked out front. Because it looked like a rough place, I made sure to park my car close to the exit facing the street in case I was forced to reenact Charlie Daniels Uneasy Rider and make a quick exit. Fortunately, I ended up loving the place. The interior closely resembles the exterior. There were old wood floors, a large stage, a dance floor and a cool outside patio area. The bar was large with an ancient metal surface which was banged up and just added to the ambiance. We arrived before the band was set to play so we were able to sit at the bar and drink while the band performed their sound check. Once they started playing conversation was nearly impossible so we sat back and enjoyed the show. I can't remember the name of the band, but it was rock, and they were pretty good. I would love to come back and see more bands because this really is a great venue.Even though it is a serious dive, it had a great beer selection. I attribute this to the location as nearly every dive I have been to on the Northshore has great beer. It was a little surreal to be drinking Grolsch while sitting in a dive, but I really liked it.The crowd was diverse. There were bikers, professional drunks, locals and transplants. Everyone kept to themselves and seemed friendly. The staff were also friendly and prompt with drink orders.I really liked this bar and hope to spend many more nights inside.

Ruby's is an institution. Can't live in WST and NOT go to Ruby's. Bands are awesome and is your quintessential dive bar. Side note. Hopefully this moron Chance character can put down his gut buster Burger long enough to get a job. Yo bro upgrade you phone cause your pics suck

Just what I was hoping for! See Tab Benoit on the small stage. The place is packed, the ceilings are low and you can feel the floor shake as the crow moves in sync with the music. They do not allow smoking inside any more which is nice for us non smokers. The stamp lady at the front door is cool as the other side of the pillow and the bar tenders are fast and mix good strong drinks all night long. No dress code!Live music most nights and every weekend!Small cover charge!Real roadhouse feel!!

Check it, if you're into the real housewives of Mandeville mixed with river rats in the same building, this is the shithole for you.

Pretty much the epitome of a dive bar, but in a good way. Great place for live music, cheap drinks, and dancing. The place is small. The ceilings are low. (However, a plus is that you can write your name on the ceiling with chalk if you have someone to hold you up.) People get a little rowdy, but Ruby's certainly has character. It's usually somewhere we visit AFTER we've had a few drinks already. Sometimes there is a cover charge, which sucks, but understandable for live music nights.

Great Place for a authentic roadhouse experience, especially on a weekend night, for late night music and dancing.Good thing we had a designated driver....we hit this place after watching the LSU game at another bar, and decided to keep on rolling....maybe that was a bad idea (judging from my headache the next morning!) but we had a great time, met a few nice girls, danced to the band, and had a few more drinks. Even got to see a MMA brawl on the dance floor...in true Roadhouse tradition...Very diverse crowd, inexpensive drinks, and a great band....what else would you want?Perfect, old school fun and great authentic atmosphere...

Live music on the weekend. Very good band selection. This place has a road house feel and is full of bikers but locals as well. It is small so it gets crowded fast. It is usually smoky but recently they have been having some smoke free nights. Cover charge for bands, no dress code.

Love Ruby's. It's this Cool and Funky/Divey place on 190 in Mandeville. I've only been a handful of times, mostly to see the bands. They get a good mix of local talent. They always seem to have someone fun playing. It's also a good place to people watch. You have the real housewives of Mandeville rubbing shoulders with the biker set. And some regular folks out to just have a good time.Well priced drinks and some good bartenders who somehow always manage to keep up with the crowd.
