It was my first experience for the Royal Street stroll. Wait for the Groupon or discount to come around. I did the VIP pass. It started at 200 Royal Street for about 5 blocks to 700 Royal Street. The parade was okay. The VIP pass only gives you 5-6 additional wines and a seating area in one of the art galleries. Would I do it again? No. There were more alcohol then food booths. The booth was very spread out because there was not much Vendors. After I went to have dinner at Acme and that was amazing. Save your money and spend it elsewhere! We are doing the Grand Tasting tonight so we shall see how that compares to other food/wine tasting we have been to in Los Angeles. https://www.nowfe.com

I enjoyed my first Royal Street Stroll! The weather thankfully cleared up for us! So many delicious nibbles and wines to try. I was full by the end of it! There were also wines to try inside of a handful of the galleries along the way. You get to keep your NOWFE wine glass too! There were a few lines for vendors but they moved fast. Many of the food stands ran out early so get your bites at the beginning. It is an expensive event but it's for a good cause. Lots of great music/street performers too. Very charming and very NOLA!

This is the second year in a row that I went on the Royal Street Stroll. Frankly, it is overpriced and overrated. The ticket costs $85 and entitles you to free wine tastings and some food tastings as well. There is just not a whole lot that is interesting. In fact, getting in was ridiculous. My friend and I arrived at 5:30 PM. The event started at 5 PM. We were in literally a 300 foot line. It took us 15minutes just to get our wristbands. Of course the worker said oh the line is moving quickly which it did. But a 300 foot line moving quickly is still a 300 foot line. It was totally ridiculous. The lines for many of the food vendors were long as well. Some of the wines were nice, but others were marginal at best especially given the $85 price tag. The food was definitely better than the wine I will say that. The only way I will come back is if I get a free ticket like I did this time. I would never pay $85 for this event.
